  • Patent number: 10161923
Abstract: A gas analyzer system for analyzing and monitoring samples of compressed or ambient gas such as breathing air and informing the user as to the results of the sample's gas purity without the gas sample having to be physically transported to an accredited laboratory. The system comprises a gas analysis module situated at a user facility for receiving the contents of a gas sample and detecting gas impurity characteristics, and a server situated at a remote certification and monitoring center and electrically coupled to the gas analysis module via a bi-directional communications link such a computer network connection. The remote server receives and stores the gas purity characteristics in the form of gas impurity data obtained from the analysis module. The module includes a calibration canister containing a known gas. The module executes onboard calibration by analyzing the calibration gas and comparing it to known data stored on the module.

  • Patent number: 9151716
Abstract: A device for testing a scuba tank air supply for carbon monoxide comprising a transparent or clear inflatable enclosure such as a balloon and a tablet that changes color when exposed to carbon monoxide mounted inside said balloon and a hermetically sealed package containing the balloon and the CO tablet to prevent the activation of the tablet prior to testing the air supply in the scuba tank.

The system comprises a gas analysis module situated at a user facility for receiving the contents of a gas sample and detecting gas impurity characteristics, and a server situated at a remote certification and monitoring center and electrically coupled to the gas analysis module via a bi-directional communications link such a computer network connection. The remote server receives and stores the gas purity characteristics in the form of computer-readable gas impurity data obtained from the analysis module. The server compares the impurity data with the contents of a database containing threshold gas purity parameters and provides the test results to the user facility by electronic messaging.

  • Patent number: 8038948
Abstract: A gas analyzer system for analyzing samples of compressed or ambient gas such as breathing air within a scuba tank, SCBA or ambient air within an industrial plant and informing the user as to the results of the sample's gas purity without the gas sample having to be physically transported to an accredited laboratory. The system comprises a gas analyzer situated at a user facility for receiving the contents of a gas sample and detecting gas purity characteristics, and a server situated at a remote certified testing site and electrically coupled to the gas analysis module via data transmission, such as a wireless or a computer network connection, wherein the server, maintained by a qualified third party receives and stores the gas purity characteristics in the form of computer-readable data signals.

  • Patent number: 4470453
Abstract: A heat exchange apparatus having a plurality of plates through which heat is exchanged from a first gas to a second gas is provided with a plurality of plates having first and second opposing patterns. Each of the opposing patterns is provided with a plurality of sinusoidally varying surface strips and a plurality of spacing ridges between the surface strips, whereby the second gas flows in a generally sinusoidal path in a first direction along a first side of the first and second patterns between the first and second plates and the first gas flows in a generally sinusoidal path in a direction opposite the first direction along the other side of the first and second plates. The plurality of spacing ridges on the second pattern are disposed relative to the spacing ridges on the first pattern such that the spacing ridges on the second pattern lie along a line substantially in the middle of the surface strips of the first pattern, and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4470454
Abstract: A heat exchange apparatus is provided with a plurality of plates formed and stacked so at to provide heat transfer through the plates from a first gas to a second gas. The plates are of substantially identical configuration and size, each of the plates formed with a central opening and an alternating arrangement of first and second surface patterns, ports being provided between the first and second surface patterns. The plates are stacked such that adjacent plates are rotated 180.degree. about a diametrical axis relative to each other and so as to place the ports and patterns in alignment, surface patterns of the first type from any of the plates being adjacent to surface patterns of the second type on a plate adjacent thereto to form a plurality of opposing pattern pairs.
