  • Patent number: 11448155
Abstract: A process for testing a plurality of components of an exhaust gas aftertreatment system (100) is disclosed, wherein the plurality of components comprises a first SCR catalyst and at least one further SCR catalyst arranged downstream of the first SCR catalyst in the flow direction of exhaust gas to be passed through the exhaust gas aftertreatment system, a first NOx sensor assigned to the first SCR catalyst and at least one further NOx sensor and a first DeNOx element assigned to the first SCR catalyst and at least one further DeNOx element and wherein the process comprises at least the following steps: conditioning the SCR catalysts, testing the NOx sensors, testing the DeNOx systems testing a storage capacity for the reductant of the SCR catalysts.

  • Patent number: 11409273
Abstract: A device for determining whether a defect of a component is determinable based on results of predefined diagnostic options, including: storing, in a matrix, parameters which, for each combination of one component defect and one diagnosis result, provide a measure of whether the respective defect is possible for the respective diagnosis result, the matrix rows being assigned to one of the diagnosis results, the matrix columns being assigned to one of the defects; selecting at least two matrix rows which, for a diagnosis result consistent with the defect to be identified, include a parameter greater than a predefined first limiting value; calculating a result vector by the element-wise multiplication of the selected matrix rows; and determining whether the result vector includes at least one element not smaller than a predefined second limiting value, the result vector elements, which are smaller, not being greater than a predefined third limiting value.

    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Patrick Weiss, Philipp Hagemann, Robert Manfred Zielke
  • Patent number: 11391260
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating an internal combustion engine with fuel which is combusted using a spark plug. According to the invention, the aging of the spark plug, in particular the aging of an electric resistor of the spark plug, is monitored during the operation of the internal combustion engine, wherein electromagnetic radiation of the spark plug is detected for monitoring purposes. The invention additionally relates to a controller for carrying out the method.
