  • Publication number: 20190358738
Abstract: The present invention discloses laser pressure welding which is used for joining a first metal component with a second metal component; the first metal component has a first joining section with a first joining surface; the second metal component has a second joining section with a second joining surface; laser beams are projected onto the first and second joining sections of the first and second metal components to heat the first and second joining surfaces to a temperature between their re-crystallization temperature and melting temperature respectively; and the first joining surface of the first metal component is pressed tightly against the second joining surface of the second metal component until the first joining and second joining surfaces are cooled to a temperature below their re-crystallization temperature.

  • Patent number: 10245647
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool holding fixture (1) for rotationally driven tools (2), said tool holding fixture comprising a rotationally symmetrical holding body (3) which has a front clamping portion (4) having a holding opening (5) for a tool shaft (6) of the tool (2), and a rear holding portion (7) to be held in a work spindle of a machine tool. To achieve a reduced mass, a lower mass moment of inertia and at the same time high stiffness, a sleeve (11) consisting of a fiber-reinforced plastic is arranged at least in the front clamping portion (4).

  • Publication number: 20170173704
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool holding fixture (1) for rotationally driven tools (2), said tool holding fixture comprising a rotationally symmetrical holding body (3) which has a front clamping region (4) having a receiving opening (5) for a tool shank (6) of the tool (2), and a rear holding region (7) to be held in a work spindle of a machine tool. In order to achieve a reduced mass, a lower mass moment of inertia and at the same time high stiffness, a sleeve (11), made of a fiber reinforced plastic, is disposed in at least the front clamping region (4).

  • Publication number: 20060163309
Abstract: The invention relates to a tool for the mechanical processing of workpieces, in particular for the joining, self-piercing riveting or clinching of sheet, tube or profile parts, having tool-insert carriers which are movable relative to one another and to the working ends of which a respective tool insert of a tool set can be fastened, and having an electric-motor drive which acts on a plunger of at least one tool-insert carrier for performing a working stroke, the drive comprising as drive member a cam disk (21) which can be driven by a shaft (32) of a motor (31) and controls a positive motion of a stroke member which is formed by a rocker (16) which is pivotably mounted about a fixed axis (16.1) perpendicularly to a working stroke direction of the movable tool-insert carrier (1, 2) and whose free end (17) moves a plunger (9) guided in the working stroke direction.

  • Patent number: 6745455
Abstract: A machining apparatus has a lower housing part, an upper housing part having a lower side, and a plurality of support posts fixed to the upper and lower parts and holding the upper part fixedly at a spacing above the lower part. A tool holder displaceable parallel to a horizontal tool axis on the lower side of the upper housing part carries a chuck rotatable about the tool axis and can hold a machining tool. A supply station on the lower part offset horizontally perpendicular to the tool axis from the tool holder is can hold a plurality of the workpieces. A cross slide connected between the upper housing part and a workpiece chuck displaces the workpiece chuck in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the tool axis and in a vertical direction to displace a workpiece between the station and a position aligned on the tool axis with the tool chuck.
