  • Patent number: 10704693
Abstract: A rotary union that includes a heated ferrofluid seal is disclosed. The rotary union includes an inner rotating shaft, an intermediate rotating shaft and an outer rotating shaft. The inner rotating shaft is hollow to allow the flow of cryogenic fluid in one direction. The inner rotating shaft and the intermediate shaft are spaced apart to create a channel for the return of the cryogenic fluid. The intermediate rotating shaft is separated from the outer rotating shaft by a gap so as to reduce thermal conductivity. In this way, the temperature of the outer rotating shaft is greater than the temperature of the cryogenic fluid. A heated ferrofluid seal is disposed between the outer rotating shaft and the housing.

  • Patent number: 10659982
Abstract: An apparatus determining network health comprising base stations in bidirectional communication with radios, each having an identifier and transmitting a signal including the identifier. First and second health determining devices each receive the signal during normal over-the-air operation of radio and determine if the radio is authorized and, if so, determine the identifier, time-separated signal waveforms that are compared, operating characteristics from the compared waveforms, and a current location of the radio. Each of the devices determine health of the radio based on packet sniffing, a frequency deviation, or a range of deviations by analyzing the operating characteristics. After analysis results sent to the master controller from the devices indicate that the authorized radio is healthy, the master controller determines from the analysis results that a geographically unhealthy location of the network exists within the geographic area from which the authorized healthy radio transmitted the signal.

  • Patent number: 10369323
Abstract: Embodiments are generally directed to methods, systems and devices for generating and playing back a personalized state song representing a target state of a user. In one scenario, a computer system accesses biometric data corresponding to various bodily systems of a user. The computer system encodes the biometric data into data structures that are configured for modeling using an algorithm that is specific to the user. The computer system models the encoded biometric data to identify specified patterns in the encoded biometric data, and these identified patterns are used to generate a personalized algorithm that corresponds with the identified patterns unique to the user. The computer system then synthesizes a state song using the personalized algorithm, which represents a specific biometric state for one of the bodily systems, and plays back the state song to the user to induce the user to the specific biometric state.

  • Patent number: 10354056
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure are directed towards providing feedback to users of multi-user system that has biometric recognition capabilities, so that a user knows whether the system has correctly associated the user with his or her identity. The feedback may include a display of a current camera view, along with visible identity information that is associated with each user in the view. The feedback may include per-user icons (e.g., tiles, thumbnail images and so on) by which a user visually confirms that he or she is correctly recognized. Any misrecognition may be detected via the feedback and corrected. Feedback may convey other information, such as the current interaction state/capabilities of a user.
