  • Publication number: 20230388918
Abstract: One embodiment provides a method for mobility and collaboration between ultraportable systems. The method includes connecting a plurality of portable communications devices (120) to a first base station (110A) and receiving an indication from a first portable communications device (120A) of the plurality of portable communications devices (120) that the first portable communications device (120 A) is in a coverage area (130B) of a second base station (110B). The method also includes determining a number of portable communications devices (120) connected to the first base station (110A) and determining that the number of portable communications devices (120) connected to the first base station (110A) exceeds a capacity threshold of the first base station (110A). The method further includes instructing the first portable communications device (120) to re-attach to the second base station (110B) in response to determining that the number of portable communications devices (120) exceeds the capacity threshold.

  • Publication number: 20230156545
Abstract: Techniques for dynamic optimization of radio access network sites are provided. A wireless communications infrastructure identifies that a piece of user equipment(UE) is connected to a base station associated with a current Radio Access Network(RAN) site that does not have sufficient backhaul resources to support the piece of UE. A target RAN site that has sufficient backhaul resources to support the piece of UE is identified. The target RAN site associated with at least one base station. A Radio Frequency (RF) signal transmitted from at least one of the base station associated with the current RAN site and the at least one base station associated with the target RAN site is modified. The modification causes the piece of UE to handover from the base station associated with the current RAN site to the at least one base station associated with the target RAN site.

  • Publication number: 20230083108
Abstract: Techniques for tracking and display of compliance with instructions provided by emergency call takers are provided. An artificial intelligence (AI) bot monitors a conversation between an emergency caller and an emergency call taker. • Patent number: 11475746
Abstract: During operation a first personal-area network will activate a first camera. The first camera may be manually activated, or triggered by an audio signal. The event that causes the first camera to activate will also cause the personal-area network to send an acoustic signature to other personal-area networks. Personal-area networks that receive the acoustic signature will modify audio triggers so that the acoustic signature can be better distinguished from other noises.

  • Patent number: 10356722
Abstract: A process for adjusting base station transmit power to reduce power consumption in a wireless radio system, the method includes causing, by a radio controller, a message to be transmitted on a control channel in the wireless radio system proposing a transmit power reduction with respect to a traffic channel in the wireless radio system. Subsequently monitoring, by the radio controller, one or both of the control channel and the traffic channel for an indication from a mobile station affected by the proposed power reduction that the proposed power reduction is unacceptable. And modifying, by the radio controller, as a function of the presence or absence of the indication, the transmit power of the traffic channel.

  • Publication number: 20190207986
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for identifying individuals who frequently change their mobile device. During operation, a server continuously receives facial recognition data for individuals along with device IDs detected at the time the facial recognition data was obtained. Devices associated with the individual are determined. This process is repeated and a determination is made as to whether the devices associated with the individual have changed. An individual that frequently changes devices will be identified as suspicious.

  • Publication number: 20170126898
Abstract: A method and apparatus transmits data with voice-encoded data units on a wireless communications channel with a voice transmission. The arrangement determines a number of audio bits available for stealing by analyzing at least one parameter that affects voice quality selected from the group of: a movement velocity of the mobile communication radio, a signal strength or fading rate of the radio channel, a location of the mobile communication radio with respect to a coverage map, whether the mobile communication radio is disposed in an indoor location, and a distance from the communication radio to the base radio. The determination is provided to an audio and data coding profile. The profile is applied to substitute data bits for the determined number of audio bits in one or more voice-encoded data units and the mobile radio transmits the voice-encoded data units with the voice transmission.

  • Publication number: 20160026850
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying fingers in contact with a touch screen is provided herein. During operation, a device will attempt to identify a particular finger pattern in contact with the touch screen by identifying fingers in contact with a touch screen. The fingers in contact with the touch screen are preferably identified by determining a fingerprint for each finger in contact with the touch screen. When a fingerprint for all fingers cannot be identified, a fingerprint map will be used to determine those fingers most likely in contact with the touch screen.

  • Patent number: 9189347
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for providing improved reliability via redundant voting systems. The voting systems are operable to vote on a signal received by a plurality of base stations in a communication system. A first voting processor transmits a message to the plurality of base stations indicating a return base station to voting processor (BS-VP) multicast address. A plurality of multicast messages addressed to the return multicast address are then received from the plurality of base stations and associated with a particular signal received from a signal source by each of the plurality of base stations. The first voting processor determines a recovered signal, and responsive to the first voting processor determining that the second voting processor is no longer operational, transmits the recovered signal to a voting processor to infrastructure (VP-IN) multicast address associated with an infrastructure device and the first and second voting processors.
