  • Publication number: 20130098983
Abstract: A bar code generation and processing system for medical and other use comprises at least one repository and a bar code processor. The at least one repository of information includes, identification data of multiple bar code scanners and also associates a bar code displayed in an image associated with an executable application and presented on a device with, the executable application and at least one of, (a) the device and (b) a data destination associated with the application. The bar code processor receives identification data of a bar code scanner and data representing the bar code displayed in the image and uses the information in associating the bar code with the data destination associated with the application and a particular bar code scanner of the multiple bar code scanners. The bar code processor communicates data acquired using the particular bar code scanner to the data destination in response to the association.

  • Publication number: 20110305376
Abstract: A system associates a patient and patient identifier with a medical device and includes an interface. The interface acquires data representing an image of a patient in a care setting and showing a medical device in the vicinity of the patient and acquires data identifying the patient. An image data processor analyzes the acquired data representing the image to identify the medical device type by, analyzing the acquired data to determine a shape of the medical device, comparing the determined shape of the medical device with predetermined template shapes of known device types and identifying the medical device type in response to the shape comparison indicating a shape match. A data processor associates the identified medical device type with the data identifying the patient. An output processor initiates generation of data indicating an association of the identified medical device type with the data identifying the patient.

  • Publication number: 20060065315
Abstract: A fluid control valve includes a valve body having both fluid inlet and discharge ports. A flow passage axially extending within the valve body communicates with the inlet and discharge ports. A valve member within the flow passage is movable by an actuator force in a first direction to direct a pressurized fluid from the inlet to the discharge port. The valve member includes first and second valve heads having different diameters and a valve seating member. The valve seating member engages first and second sealing diameters of the flow passage, the second sealing diameter being smaller than the first. Fluid pressure acting on the different diameters of the first valve head and valve seating member in contact with the second sealing diameter creates a net return force directing the valve member in a second direction opposite to the first direction upon removal of the actuator force.

  • Publication number: 20060027269
Abstract: A solenoid for an electromagnetically operated valve includes a bobbin having a substantially rectangular or elliptical cross section, a pole plate stationary with respect to the bobbin, and an armature slidable within the bobbin in response to a magnetic field generated by the coil through the pole plate. A coil wound around the bobbin has a rectangular cross section which on a short axis side includes a width W. A relation between width W and a virtual cylindrical iron core of diameter D having the same cross sectional area as an armature cross sectional area is expressed as D=(0.4 to 0.8) W. A ratio of a length A of a long axis side of the armature to a length B of a short axis side of the armature has a range between 3.1?(A/B)?4.5.

  • Publication number: 20050204368
Abstract: A system automatically generates interface code and enables interoperability between a plurality of different executable applications. The system includes first and second calling procedures coded in a common predetermined code language for enabling execution of corresponding first and second procedures of respective first and second different executable applications. An interface processor enables execution of the corresponding first and second procedures of respective first and second different executable applications by using the first and second calling procedures and by providing input parameters to the first and second calling procedures and receiving output parameters from the first and second calling procedures respectively.

  • Publication number: 20050078016
Abstract: A source signal is provided. The source signal is XORed with a scrambling random signal to generate a scrambled signal. The scrambled signal is transmitted through the digital logic circuit. The scrambled signal is XORed with the descrambling random signal logically identical to the scrambling random signal to produce a descrambled signal identical to the source signal. In one embodiment, the scrambling random signal is transmitted through the digital logic circuit and used as the descrambling random signal. In another embodiment, the scrambling random signal and descrambling random signal are generated independently using pseudo-random number generators. In yet another embodiment, the scrambling random signal is self-synchronizing and is contained within the pattern of the scrambled signal.

  • Publication number: 20050047512
Abstract: Advantage is taken of self-synchronized scrambler techniques to randomize data transitions across an interface thereby reducing the likelihood of interference induced by legitimate data changes in the data system. This arrangement reduces cross-talk in electronic circuits which results from coherent interference.

  • Publication number: 20050007160
Abstract: The tunable differential transconductor includes a tail current sink and a differentially-connected pair of FETs connected to the tail current source. At least one of the FETs is a composite FET that includes a main FET connected in parallel with a switchable tuning element. The switchable tuning element is operable to change an effective channel dimension, i.e., at least one of effective channel length and effective channel width, of the composite FET. In the method, a differential transconductor that includes a tail current sink and a differentially-connected pair of composite FETs connected to the tail current sink is provided. The effective channel dimension of at least one of the composite FETs is changed to establish one or more of a desired transconductance, a desired transconductance linearity and a desired offset of the differential transconductor.

  • Patent number: 4359226
Abstract: A game embodies the celestial concept of Karma and the repayment in future lives for deeds done in past lives. The game has a board around which are playing positions and an inner register for indicating the number of revolutions around the board. At various locations along the board, a player will be instructed to pick up either a Good or Bad Karma card, a Good Karma card causing a player to have an immediate disadvantage but a long-term advantage, and a Bad Karma card causing an immediate advantage but a long-term disadvantage. A player will be instructed to pick up a Good Payback card which causes him to exchange long-term advantage for immediate advantage, or a Bad Payback card which causes him to exchange long-term disadvantage for immediate disadvantage.
