  • Patent number: 11994916
Abstract: This is directed to connecting two or more elements using an intermediate element constructed from a material that changes between states. An electronic device can include one or more components constructed by connecting several elements. To provide a connection having a reduced or small size or cross-section and construct a component having high tolerances, a material can be provided in a first state in which it flows between the elements before changing to a second state in which it adheres to the elements and provides a structurally sound connection. For example, a plastic can be molded between the elements. As another example, a composite material can be brazed between the elements. In some cases, internal surfaces of the elements can include one or more features for enhancing a bond between the elements and the material providing the interface between the elements.

  • Patent number: 11939100
Abstract: A product unpacking system includes a work surface at a first height and a product unloading position at a second height. An adjustable cutter is positioned adjacent to the work surface and configured to cut a plurality of sides of each case. A case movement device, such as a robot or manual mover, is configured to retrieve a case from a group of cases and move the case to the cutter to cut a plurality of sides of the case. The case movement device may then move the cut case to an unload position over a product container to allow products within the case to drop into the product container. A system of conveyors may be used to convey empty product containers toward the work surface and to convey filled product containers away from the work surface. The system may be automated to receive recipe information for each case to be unloaded and modify parameters of the system based on the case.

  • Patent number: 7193510
Abstract: A safety interlock circuit wherein the safety interlock switches can report their status. Signal generators associated with the safety interlock switches produce status signals that are transmitted on the wiring of the safety interlock circuit. The present invention is ideal for retrofitting current installations because no additional wiring is required for carrying the status signals.

  • Publication number: 20060118416
Abstract: An electrochemical sensor system includes a filter comprising a micro-porous solid possessing a large surface area, wherein the solid porous material may contain alkaline materials and the filter is located within a container sealed with a cap, and includes a water reservoir containing water or a water-based solution and a heater disposed proximate to the water reservoir. The heater can be utilized to heat the water reservoir. This sensor system further comprises a heater and hydrogen generating chamber disposed proximate to the charcoal filter within the container. Additionally, a layer comprising water trapped within a polymer matrix can be provided wherein the layer is located below the heater and hydrogen generating chamber within the container in order to slow down water evaporation and provided extended electrochemical sensing capabilities for the electrochemical sensor system.

  • Patent number: 6837118
Abstract: An equipment or environment health monitor having a micro gas apparatus incorporating a phased heater array, concentrator, separator and detector for achieving the sensitivity needed for detection of extremely small amounts of fluids. The apparatus is capable of detecting trace gases, and may be utilized to detect “fault” gas of operating equipment so as to determine, for example, the prospects of imminent failure of the equipment. Also, the micro gas apparatus is capable of detecting miniscule amounts of pollutants in ambient environment of a conditioned or tested space. The output of the apparatus may go to a microcontroller and/or processor for prompt analysis. The output from the microcontroller or processor may go to either a transmitter/receiver for wireless communication or a modem for utility line, cable or optical communication with a station for data and results observation and review.

  • Publication number: 20030116701
Abstract: A method and system for optically sensing the presence of an object on a conveyor is disclosed. Light reflected from an object transported on a conveyor is detected utilizing one or more optical components when the object enters a sensing zone. The reflected light can then be conditioned to provide a valid output signal, which is utilized to provide controlling information necessary to route the object to a proper location and prevent damage to the object from other objects as the object is being transported upon the conveyor. Optical components can be arranged so the light is reflected when the object enters the sensing zone, and this reflected light is then detected and conditioned to provide a valid output signal. Various lens devices and optical alignment arrangements permit control over the minimum and maximum sensing distance. An optical emitter, optical receiver, and/or one or more associated optical lenses may be connected by to a distributed controller.
