  • Publication number: 20220211620
Abstract: A pain relieving aerosol spray (pain relieving and pain preventing aerosol spray) comprising a pain relieving composition and at least one refrigerant, wherein the pain relieving aerosol spray is capable of providing rapid onset local anaesthesia of intact skin and/or a wound of a subject to which it is applied and further pain relief due to the pain relieving composition remaining on the wound of the subject. The pain relieving composition comprises a liquid gel matrix that contains at least one anaesthetic agent, a vasoconstrictor, and an antiseptic agent. The spray can be used for a surgical procedure or animal husbandry procedure, such as castration or branding, or treating a burn or wound.

  • Publication number: 20210052495
Abstract: A sprayable cooling composition comprising at least one refrigerant (DME) as well as at least one non-volatile antiseptic agent (cetrimide), wherein the cooling composition is capable of eliciting both a local refrigerant effect to a body surface area to which it is applied and providing antisepsis due to the non-volatile antiseptic agent remaining on the body surface area. The composition is useful for surgical and animal husbandry procedures, such as piglet castration.

  • Patent number: 8960128
Abstract: A method for providing anesthesia to a subject having a wound, such as a laceration, a surgical incision, an ulcer, an abrasion or a burn, said method comprising the step of applying topically to the wound a composition comprising: at least one local anesthetic agent; a hydrophilic or hydroalcoholic gelling agent; an antiseptic agent; a vasoconstrictor; and a detectable marker such as a food dye, wherein when the composition is topically applied to the wound of the subject the presence of the anesthetic agent on the subject is indicated by the detectable marker. The method has been developed primarily for anaesthetizing open wounds of animals, particularly those caused by husbandry procedures.

  • Patent number: 8822416
Abstract: This invention concerns a synergistic combination of a topical anesthetic and wound barrier forming agent capable of providing extended analgesia of ‘significant open wounds’ (that being, for example, a laceration, surgical incision, abrasion, ulcer or burn, but not being a minor cut, scratch, sting, burn or abrasion) in which conventional management alternatives (such as suturing and/or administration of injected or systemic analgesia) are impractical, unaffordable or otherwise unavailable.

  • Patent number: 7943012
Abstract: A device for protecting a spraying equipment and surroundings in a paper or board machine, for applying a treatment medium onto a moving surface, comprises a protecting cover forming a single chamber having the spraying equipment located therein and which is open towards the moving surface in connection with an application zone. Two wall elements of the protecting cover extend in the cross-machine direction on either side of the application zone, and define machine-wide gaps with the moving surface. The protecting cover includes a sealing arrangement arranged in connection with the gaps to control and restrict passage of air and contaminants through the gaps; a system for a controlled supply of capture air for capturing contaminants within the space; and an evacuating system for a controlled, continuous evacuation of the capture air with contaminants from the chamber. An associated method of using such a device is also provided.
