  • Patent number: 6883450
Abstract: A multi-hull design suitable for various size boats ranging from racing craft to the large military ships. The apparatus is a polygonal boat hull apparatus having a bow and stern wave penetrating feature. The hull is made from triangular-shaped essentially flat panels which provides for substantially stability and strength. The hull can be made in various configurations ranging from catamarans, triamarans to multiple hull designs in accordance with the projected use of the vessel. The invention includes a drive pod system having a plurality of propulsion units. The invention also provides at least one hydropneumatic cylinder that adjusts the angle of attack of the propulsion unit. The hull may also be rigged as a multi-masted sailing vessel.

  • Publication number: 20020096098
Abstract: A multi-hull design for a large apparatus and a propulsion system for same. The apparatus is a triangular boat hull apparatus having a bow and stem wave penetrating feature. The hull is composed of one triangle overlapping two additional triangles on the port and starboard sides of the apparatus. This invention includes a drive pod for a multi-hull apparatus composed of at least one hydropneumatic cylinder, a propulsion device and a propeller. A propulsion system for a multi-hull apparatus composed of a plurality of drive pods which are attached to the hull of the apparatus and provide adjustability for varying ocean conditions is also an object of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 5549066
Abstract: A multi-hull design constructed from flat pieces of material instead of curved sections normally used for boat hull construction. The design is economical to build since it makes the best use of modern construction materials. Application to all types and sizes of boats is possible. Likewise, efficient use of all kinds of propulsion can be accommodated. The use of triangular cross sections and triangular fore and aft wave penetrating sections provide an enormously strong hull. The dual fore and aft wave penetrating sections increase sea keeping ability in very severe sea conditions. Machinery and stores can be loaded below centerline of the air and water tight hull to give a self-righting movement to the design, making it inherently safe if rolled-over or capsized.

  • Patent number: 4439062
Abstract: A sealing system for an earthen container such as a pit, lagoon, land fill or the like for storing waste materials includes an outer seal layer formed by mixing a water expandable colloidal clay, such as bentonite with the soil of the pit. A middle or intermediate layer is defined by a layer of granular fill material placed on the first layer. An inner seal layer is formed by mixing water expandable colloidal clay, such as bentonite with the upper surface of the granular fill layer. A source of pressurized clean fluid is in communication with the granular fill layer to develop pressure therein and prevent leakage through the inner seal layer. Level sensing apparatus for sensing the level of waste and clean fluids may be included and apparatus for detecting leakage may also be included.
