  • Patent number: 11987261
Abstract: A lead autonomous vehicle (AV) includes a sensor configured to observe a field of view in front of the lead AV. Following AVs are on the same road behind the lead AV. A processor of the lead AV is configured to detect a road structural change on the particular road. The processor updates driving instructions of the lead AV to navigate through the structural change using driving instructions related to the structural change. The processor sends a first message to the operation server indicating that the structural change is detected. The operation server updates the first portion of the map data, reflecting the structural change. The operation server sends the updated map data to the one or more following AVs.

  • Patent number: 11988775
Abstract: Sensors, including time-of-flight sensors, may be used to detect objects in an environment. In an example, a vehicle may include a time-of-flight sensor that images objects around the vehicle, e.g., so the vehicle can navigate relative to the objects. Sensor data generated by the time-of-flight sensor can be impacted by glare. In some examples, an emitter system for illuminating a field of view can be dynamically altered to provide different illumination intensities at different regions in the field of view. For instance, locations at which a highly-reflective object or other object that is likely to cause glare may be illuminated at a lower illumination intensity, e.g., to reduce the likelihood of pixel saturation in measured data associated with the object.

  • Publication number: 20240127367
Abstract: A crop prediction system performs various machine learning operations to predict crop production and to identify a set of farming operations that, if performed, optimize crop production. The crop prediction system uses crop prediction models trained using various machine learning operations based on geographic and agronomic information. Responsive to receiving a request from a grower, the crop prediction system can access information representation of a portion of land corresponding to the request, such as the location of the land and corresponding weather conditions and soil composition. The crop prediction system applies one or more crop prediction models to the access information to predict a crop production and identify an optimized set of farming operations for the grower to perform.

  • Patent number: 11954877
Abstract: Sensors, including time-of-flight sensors, may be used to detect objects in an environment. In an example, a vehicle may include a time-of-flight sensor that images objects around the vehicle, e.g., so the vehicle can navigate relative to the objects. Sensor data generated by the time-of-flight sensor can include returns associated with highly reflective objects that cause glare. In some examples, a depth of a sensed surface is determined from the sensor data and additional pixels at the same depth are identified. The subset of pixels at the depth are filtered by comparing a measured intensity value to a threshold intensity value for the depth. Other threshold intensity values can be applied to subsets of pixels at different depths.
