  • Publication number: 20190370804
Abstract: A system and method of identifying a credit card input field on a webpage is described. A processor may determine if a user's input includes a numerical sequence. The processor may determine if the number of digits in the numerical sequence matches a value that is pre-determined by a financial service provider. The processor may determine if one or more opening digits of the numerical sequence match a sequence that is pre-defined as identifying a financial service provider. The processor may validate the numerical sequence using a pre-determined algorithm. The processor may determine if any labeling texts associated with the input field match pre-determined texts. The processor may generate a file labeling the input field as a credit card input field.

  • Publication number: 20190362344
Abstract: A device associated with a vehicle may receive a device identifier of a user device that is registered to an authorized user or user identification data associated with the authorized user. The device may include a secure element, and may receive, from an infotainment system, payment information associated with a transaction for a service. The device may secure the payment information using an encryption technique that is to use a public key associated with the device identifier or the user identification data to encrypt the payment information. The device may provide the payment information to the infotainment system, which may provide the payment information to another device that is associated with an organization providing the particular service. The other device may use a private key to decrypt the payment information, process the payment information, and may perform actions relating to the service based on the payment information being successfully processed.

  • Patent number: 10467627
Abstract: A device may determine that a verification method associated with a transaction card is to be modified from a first verification method to a second verification method. The first verification method and the second verification method may use different types of verification information. The device may provide a set of instructions to the transaction card after determining that the verification method is to be modified. The set of instructions may cause the transaction card to modify the verification method from the first verification method to the second verification method. The device may provide information identifying a modification to the verification method to a transaction backend device to notify the transaction backend device that the verification method associated with the transaction card has been modified from the first verification method to the second verification method.

  • Patent number: 10453054
Abstract: A transaction card includes a near-field communication (NFC) component, a security component, a wireless component, one or more memories, and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the one or more memories. The device receives a signal from a user device attempting to access a secure application, and energizes the NFC component based on the signal received from the user device. The device causes the security component to generate an encrypted code based on the NFC component being energized, and provides, via the security component, the encrypted code to the wireless component. The device provides, via the wireless component, the encrypted code to the user device to permit the user device to utilize the encrypted code as authentication for accessing the secure application.

  • Patent number: 10410206
Abstract: A transaction card may determine to initiate a mode associated with the transaction card. The mode may be related to locating the transaction card. The mode may be associated with outputting a first signal. The transaction card may determine a manner in which to configure the mode based on a set of parameters. The set of parameters may include a power level of the transaction card, or a strength of a second signal associated with a connection between the transaction card and a device associated with the transaction card. The transaction card may initiate the mode after configuring the mode. The transaction card may determine to terminate the mode based on an indication that the transaction card has been located.

  • Patent number: 10369964
Abstract: The keyless entry system (KES) controls access to a vehicle's doors, trunk, hood, etc., through a keyless entry device (e.g., a key fob) using wireless communication with the vehicle. The technology described here mitigates vulnerabilities in the KES implementation by employing a device configured to suppress a keyless entry command until an additional means of authentication is verified, at which point the keyless entry command is unsuppressed.

  • Publication number: 20190190568
Abstract: In some implementations, a near field communication (NFC) device may determine whether the NFC device is to perform a wireless transaction in a powered mode or an unpowered mode, and may selectively perform the wireless transaction in the powered mode or the unpowered mode based on determining whether the NFC device is to perform the wireless transaction in the powered mode or the unpowered mode. The wireless transaction may be performed using power from a power source internal to the NFC device when the wireless transaction is performed in the powered mode. The wireless transaction may be performed without using power from the power source internal to the NFC device when the wireless transaction is performed in the unpowered mode.

  • Publication number: 20190164158
Abstract: A device may determine that a verification method associated with a transaction card is to be modified from a first verification method to a second verification method. The first verification method and the second verification method may use different types of verification information. The device may provide a set of instructions to the transaction card after determining that the verification method is to be modified. The set of instructions may cause the transaction card to modify the verification method from the first verification method to the second verification method. The device may provide information identifying a modification to the verification method to a transaction backend device to notify the transaction backend device that the verification method associated with the transaction card has been modified from the first verification method to the second verification method.

  • Publication number: 20190132281
Abstract: A two-tier Anycast addressing hierarchy enables deterministic traffic management in an Anycast system. Different locations of the Anycast system advertise a common Anycast cover route comprising a first-tier Anycast address with a first address prefix, and different specific routes comprising a set of second-tier Anycast addresses with a second address prefix, wherein each address of the set of second-tier Anycast addresses falls within the already advertised Anycast cover route, and wherein the second prefix is larger than the first prefix. Domain Name System (DNS) operation can resolve queries to the cover route when normal Anycast operation is desired or can be modified to resolve a subset of queries to a particular second-tier address in order to shift a deterministic amount of traffic based on the resolved subset of queries to a deterministically selected Anycast system location based on the location from which the particular second-tier address is advertised.
