Abstract: Stationary apparatus presenting a combination memo pad holder and pencil sharpener assembly. The apparatus generally comprises a main housing having a compartment for insertion of a note pad therein. Flanges on the sharpener assembly releasably engage tracks on the housing so as to position the assembly in a first position if the apparatus is used on a desk top and a second position if the apparatus is attached to a wall or the like. The offset positions of the sharpener assembly enables a pencil to be inserted therein in a ready-for-use position.

Abstract: A starting mechanism for a reciprocating piston pneumatic hammer provides a passageway coupling a pneumatic piston subchamber to an exit port to exhaust pressurized pneumatic fluid from the subchamber during a start-up period. A pneumatic valve is provided to open the passageway as the hammer is started so as to create a pressure differential in the coupled piston subchamber, and thus prevent the piston from centering. The valve closes the passageway after the piston reciprocation has begun.

Abstract: A pneumatic percussion rock drill includes a muffler casing surrounding the drill cylinder part and sealingly engaged with the drill housing so that exhaust air from the percussion motor flows forward through ports in a forward housing member into a chamber containing the drill chuck, the chuck rotation gearing, and the drill stem shank. Exhaust air is used to cool and lubricate the chuck parts before exiting from the drill onto the feed mechanism located below the drill housing.
