  • Patent number: 8686590
Abstract: An aircraft sensor system including a primary module configured to be attached to an aircraft portion and operative to transmit electrical power wirelessly. A secondary module configured to be attached to an aircraft component, the secondary module operative to receive electrical power wirelessly from the primary module. At least one sensor configured to be operatively attached to a portion of the aircraft component and electrically coupled to the secondary module, wherein the at least one sensor is operative to measure a desired parameter of the aircraft component.

  • Patent number: 7965948
Abstract: Transmitting power and data to electronic components using a single optical fiber includes receiving a light power signal via the single fiber optic, converting the power light signal to electrical energy, at least a portion of which may be stored in an energy storage element, and, in response to a pause in the received light power signal, transmitting a light data signal via the single optical fiber, where power used in connection with data transmission is provided by electrical energy stored in the energy storage element. A photovoltaic element may be used to convert the light power signal into electrical energy. The photovoltaic element may be an array of photodiodes or a single photodiode. The energy storage element may be a capacitor. Transmitting a light data signal may be provided by a communication light source.

  • Patent number: 6337906
Abstract: An apparatus and method for coupling an automated attendant to a telecommunications system. The apparatus includes a switching device which establishes connection between a plurality of trunk lines of an existing telecommunications system and a plurality of ports of an automated attendant. A switching device of the apparatus is controllable to establish communication between any of the trunk lines and any of a plurality of station line ports that are adapted to be coupled to a plurality of telephone stations, respectively. The apparatus substantially isolates either the switching network or the automated attendant from the AC audio portion of a telecommunications signal based on whether the automated attendant or the switching network is handling the telecommunications signal, and is capable of monitoring the status of the trunk and stations lines to detect for an on-hook condition.

  • Patent number: 4567607
Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving the accuracy in locating psychoacoustic images in plural channels of related audio signals. Signals are cross-fed from one channel to another in an out-of-phase relationship with respect to the signals in the other channel. The phase relationship is such that it has not more than a single maximum with respect to frequency. Cross-feeding is limited to frequency components less than a predetermined value in the range of 1,000 to 5,000 Hertz. The overall gain of each of the audio channels in the frequency range of approximately 100 to 1,000 Hertz is greater when a signal is applied to that channel only, than when the signal is applied to both channels. When the same signal is applied to both channels, a dip in gain occurs for frequencies in the range of approximately 200 to 900 Hertz. Above the dip, the gain is relatively flat and below the dip, the gain increases gradually.

  • Patent number: 4388689
Abstract: A plurality of data entry terminals is connected to a microprocessor system which analyzes terminal data for display on a production CRT, intended to be located in a restaurant kitchen. Food items entered on the terminal are displayed with a corresponding symbol denoting a work station where such food item is to be prepared. As each item is prepared, the food preparer enters a display symbol to signify its completion. Upon completion of all items in a food order, the microprocessor system erases the order from the CRT. A separate CRT may be connected to the microprocessor system for use by a food expediter. As each order is completed by the food preparers, the order is visually displayed on the expediter CRT thereby alerting the food expediter to collect the items of an order in the kitchen so that they may be picked up by a waiter.
