    Abstract: A confinement structure and an actuation member that provides a system that allows for controllable deformation of a variety of containers are disclosed. In one embodiment, the system of the present disclosure provides for controllable deformation of a container such that a portion of the container acts as a wiping means to empty a substance from the container. A container that includes an indentation formed on a first end of the container and a container opening located at a second end of the container is also disclosed. In one embodiment, with the container deformed to a final position, the indentation fits inside the container opening to completely expel a substance from the container.

The foam can decrease hydraulic conductivity of the roof paneling system, filter rainwater falling on the roof, and reflect excess heat. The open-cell inorganic foam preferably comprises a ceramic or glass, and has a porosity of at least about 20%, a mean pore size less than about 10 mm, and a thickness of at least about 10 mm. The foam can include a hydrophilic compound that further decreases the hydraulic conductivity of the foam. Optionally, the foam can have a reflectivity of at least about 20%.

    Abstract: An apparatus is provided for concurrently applying to a first substrate, such as a layer of a roofing surface, for the purpose of securing the first substrate to a second substrate placed on the first substrate, a plurality of substantially parallel strips of an adhesive. The apparatus includes a carrier having motive supports for transporting the carrier along a path of travel over the first substrate. Mounted on the carrier is a rack for holding at least one canister containing the adhesive. Also mounted on the carrier is a discharging mechanism that is adapted to discharge the adhesive from the at least one canister as a plurality of adhesive strips when a driving force is applied to the discharging mechanism. The driving force is supplied to the discharging mechanism by an actuating mechanism that is also mounted on the carrier.
