    Abstract: This invention relates to a nail having a head and an elongated shank with two deformed or cleated portions along the axis of the shank to increase the holding properties of the nail, especially when used to secure sheathing material to floor joists, roof trusses, or wall studs. The increased holding property is largely attributed to the second cleated portion having a diameter of about 2-25% larger than the first cleated portion of the shank.
