  • Publication number: 20160092866
Abstract: A computer system is provided which determines that a mobile device associated with an identified customer is within a seller's store. The computer system further receives transaction information from a mobile wallet application associated with the customer which includes an indication of items that are to be purchased, an indication of the amount that is to be paid, and an indication that payment is to be made from a stored value account (SVA) associated with the customer. The computer system determines, based on the customer's identity, current location, and the received transaction information, that the customer has approved the transaction, processes the transaction using the customer's SVA, provides a credit to the seller in the amount debited from the customer's SVA and generates an electronic receipt for the customer, notifying the customer that the seller has received the specified amount of money from the customer's SVA.

  • Publication number: 20140200983
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to sharing a loyalty and rewards program across multiple merchants. In one scenario, a computer system receives an indication that a user has redeemed a specified number of loyalty points using a redemption code for items at a second merchant, where the user has received at least some loyalty points from a first merchant as the result of a prior purchase, and where the user's loyalty points are stored in loyalty points store. The computer system then debits, from the user's store of loyalty points, the specified number of loyalty points redeemed by the user, credits the second merchant with at least some of the value associated with the items paid for using the stored loyalty points, and debits the first merchant for at least some of the value associated with the items paid for using the user's stored loyalty points.

  • Publication number: 20140172531
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to performing transactions using a quick response (QR) code, and to directly purchasing items from a seller using a QR code. In one scenario, a computer system receives, from a purchaser, an indication of items that are to be purchased using a mobile wallet application, and determines a total price for those items. The computer system then receives a tokenized QR code that includes embedded account information for the purchaser. The computer system generates a second tokenized QR code that includes encrypted account information for the seller, along with encrypted account information for the purchaser and the determined total price for the items that are to be purchased, and sends the second tokenized QR code to a transaction processing node where the money is transferred. The computer system then receives an electronic receipt indicating that the money was transferred from the purchaser's account to the seller's account.
