Publication number: 20110253759Abstract: A device that carries, holds, and secures hand tools, power tools and other devices & objects (squirt bottles, flashlights, calking guns, hair dry blowers, etc) made from a single pliable type material. The device carrier/holder is sturdy and rigid for securely holding hand tools or power tools or other devices and objects and such device can be readily shaped and re-shaped by the user by applying their own hand strength in order to better fit the many shapes, sizes, weights, models, makes, styles, etc of hand tools, power tools, and other objects that are used.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 13, 2011Publication date: October 20, 2011Inventors: Robert Scalese, Daniel Martin Manning

Publication number: 20070243600Abstract: An automated analyzer for performing multiple diagnostic assays simultaneously includes multiple stations in which discrete aspects of the assay are performed on fluid samples contained in sample vessels. The analyzer includes stations for automatically preparing a sample, incubating the sample, preforming an analyte isolation procedure, ascertaining the presence of a target analyte, and analyzing the amount of a target analyte. An automated receptacle transporting system moves the sample vessels from one station to the next. A method for performing an automated diagnostic assay includes an automated process for isolating and amplifying a target analyte, and, in one embodiment, a method for real-time monitoring of the amplification process.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2006Publication date: October 18, 2007Applicant: GEN-PROBE INCORPORATEDInventors: Gary Lair, Thanh Nguyen, Haito Li, Florence Li, Byron Knight, Robert Heinz, Jerzy Macioszek, Christopher Davis, Robert Scalese

Publication number: 20060266719Abstract: A sample tube holder having sample tube compartments with sets of spaced finger springs provided therein for maintaining sample tubes in substantially upright orientations. A guide structure having a series of openings is used to direct sample tubes into the sample tube compartments and to restrict lateral movement of sample tubes held thereby. A retainer is releasably engaged by the guide structure and has openings sized to provide access to sample tubes held by the sample tube compartments but which restrict vertical movement of the sample tubes. Tabs at a base of the sample tube holder and hold-downs fixed to a stationary structure adjacent a conveyor cooperate to restrict vertical movement of the sample tube holder during automated sampling procedures.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2006Publication date: November 30, 2006Applicant: GEN-PROBE INCORPORATEDInventors: Byron KNIGHT, Mark TALMER, Arthur SANDOVAL, Robert HOWARD, Rommel HIPOLITO, Robert SCALESE

Publication number: 20060210433Abstract: An automated analyzer for performing multiple diagnostic assays simultaneously includes multiple stations in which discrete aspects of the assay are performed on fluid samples contained in reaction receptacles. The analyzer includes stations for automatically preparing a sample, incubating the sample, preforming an analyte isolation procedure, ascertaining the presence of a target analyte, and analyzing the amount of a target analyte. An automated receptacle transporting system moves the reaction receptacles from one station to the next. A method for performing an automated diagnostic assay includes an automated process for isolating and amplifying a target analyte, and, in one embodiment, a method for real-time monitoring of the amplification process.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2006Publication date: September 21, 2006Applicant: GEN-PROBE INCORPORATEDInventors: Gary Lair, Thanh Nguyen, Haito Li, Florence Li, Byron Knight, Robert Heinz, Jerzy Macioszek, Christopher Davis, Robert Scalese

Patent number: 5611784Abstract: A releasably attachable manual dispensing aid is operable with a syringe having a syringe body and a syringe plunger that is movable within the syringe body. The dispensing aid includes a dispensing aid body that is releasably attachable to the syringe body. The dispensing aid further includes a dispensing aid plunger that is attachable to the syringe plunger, and has a slide that is slidable within the dispensing aid body. A fine adjustment, bottom stop, Chaney stop, and/or drag brake for the slide are optionally provided. An electronic linear position measuring device has a first portion fixed to the dispensing aid body and a second portion fixed to the dispensing aid plunger. Optionally, the dispensing aid includes a microprocessor that receives as inputs a calibration value for a particular syringe and the position signal, and determines as an output signal the true volume of liquid displaced by the syringe plunger movement.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1994Date of Patent: March 18, 1997Assignee: Hamilton CompanyInventors: Thomas Barresi, Robert Scalese, Eric Riedi, Jon E.
