  • Patent number: 11619824
Abstract: The invention discloses a selectable offset image wedge assembly and various methods for making and for use with any optical system having a circular lens and an objective, comprising a housing with a rear-facing end that mounts onto the objective and a forward-facing end with a circular wedge lens mounted therein that is coaxially aligned with the circular lens of the optical system, wherein, the wedge is adjustable to any predetermined clocking position after detachment from the optical system, allowing quick and repeated reattachment to the optical system to an approximately exact vertical orientation of a first image produced by the wedge lens and a second image produced by the circular lens of the optical system.

  • Patent number: 10324298
Abstract: The present invention relates to an offset image wedge for use on a bore-sighted rifle that does not need to be exactly accurately mounted to the rifle because the offset image wedge is mounted directly onto the scope via a clamping mounting device and aligned optically by rotating the clamping mounting device on the scope until dual displayed images overlay each other. The offset image wedge allows for a dual image which allows it to be aligned in the field, and it allows for the user to choose either a bore-sighted image or an offset image without removing the wedge. This dual image capability is accomplished by having a wedge with a smaller diameter than the outer perimeter of the objective lens of the scope of the rifle. The use of a smaller diameter wedge allows the objective lens of the scope to continue to operate normally while the wedge delivers the offset image at the same time.

  • Publication number: 20140211033
Abstract: A sighting system is disclosed, comprising a housing with small upper minor mounted in its upper center, redirecting light from a single objective lens set, and a larger lower mirror mounted coaxially relative to the lens set and upper minor, both mirrors set at 45° and redirecting light at 90° angles to the lens set. The smaller mirror is positioned closer than the lower minor to the lens set. A night camera system is used for receiving an image through the lens set redirected by the lower mirror and amplified through an intensifier before transmission to a video display monitor(s). A day camera system receiving the image from the lens set redirected by the smaller minor transmits the image to the monitor(s) for separate display of the image, enabling simultaneous capture of the optimum amount of light by each camera, maximizing the housing's diametrical space to receive incoming light.

  • Patent number: 7418175
Abstract: Optical fiber interfaces, apparatuses including the optical fiber interfaces, and methods for manufacturing the optical fiber interfaces. Optical fiber interfaces comprise a cup piece and a base piece. The cup piece includes an open first end for receiving an optical fiber end, and a second end includes an aligning protrusion. The base piece includes a top surface with an aligning cavity and an active optical device coupled to the base piece. The cup piece may be attached to the base piece. The base piece may be part of an outer housing portion of a transceiver or other optical component. The base piece may include a molded-in optical fiber interface and the cup piece may include a clearance cavity. A method for making the optical fiber includes locating the center of the active optical device and manufacturing the aligning cavity into the top surface of the base piece.
