  • Publication number: 20240094203
Abstract: A device for determining presence or absence of infection due to an infectious agent is described. The device comprises a sample receiving zone configured to receive a liquid sample from a subject suspected of having an infection due to an infectious agent, the sample receiving zone positioned to distribute the sample along a first fluid flow path to a first label zone and along a second fluid flow path to a second label zone. Test lines in each fluid flow path capture a mobile detectable species as an indicator of presence or absence of the infectious agent. The device also comprises a reference line positioned in the one of the fluid flow paths. The bidirectional fluid flow paths emanate from a common sample zone and provide an efficient approach to detection and differentiate two species as indicators of the same infectious agent or as indicators of two different infectious agents.

  • Patent number: 10639556
Abstract: A system for a tilting amusement ride installed in a supporting structure and intended to bring a rider from a standing vertical position, to a tilted position while the rider remains prone, the ride comprising: a tilting platform comprising at least one cell to accommodate a rider; at least one actuator attached at its extending end to the platform by a pivoting attachment, wherein the actuator extends to tilt the platform and retracts to retract the platform; at least one back post attached to the at least one actuator at its fixed end by a pivoting attachment and securely attached to the structure; and a supporting frame attached to the platform by a rotational pivot, wherein the platform tilts about the pivot and wherein the frame is securely attached to the structure; wherein the platform has an angle of tilt between 15 and 45 degrees.

  • Patent number: 4776173
Abstract: Animal or plant derived materials are prepared for extraction of desired substances therefrom by grinding said materials at or below their Brittleness Temperature. This treatment allows fracture of the materials into small particles with high surface area to volume, as well as high volume to mass ratios, and disrupts membranes of tissues, organs, cells or organelles which would otherwise prevent or limit separation of desired biomolecules.
