  • Patent number: 7701927
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transmitting communication data in a communication system (CSY) between a calling first communication unit (IPPA) and a called second communication unit (IPPD), wherein, in a first step a primary connection is set up starting from the first communication unit (IPPA) via at least one node unit to the second communication unit (IPPD) with transmission of addressing data of the communication units (IPPA,IPPD) and node units participating in the setup of the primary connection. Following this, the first communication unit (IPPA) and/or a first node unit disposed along the primary connection which have a valid addressing data element are registered as the ingress node. Furthermore, the second communication unit (IPPD) and/or a last node unit disposed along the primary connection which have a valid addressing data element are registered as the egress node.

  • Patent number: 6678357
Abstract: An IP Telephony Emergency Connections (ITEC) system and method that determines the precise origin of an emergency call and routes the call to the proper Public Service Answering Point (PSAP). A source-based routing mechanism is provided in an IP telephony type network, such as a VoIP or IP over LAN/ATM. Emergency calls are routed to the correct PSAP jurisdiction. Each server/switch may include the mechanism such that the IP Telephony network can identify an E911 connection and egress to a public network at a point closest to the emergency call point of origin. Whenever an emergency number call is made, the call's origin is determined during call setup establishment. Every port or end user jack in the network is assigned a Source Group Index (SGI), which is a number or index representing each PSAP jurisdiction in the network. All ports/jacks within the same PSAP jurisdiction are assigned the same SGI. Users may be in different areas of multiple PSAP jurisdictions.

  • Patent number: 6600819
Abstract: A method is provided for implementing call acceptance groups extending between network nodes in a communications network having a plurality of network nodes. An arrival of a call for a terminal which is coupled to a first network node and has an assigned call acceptance group is also signaled to all of the other network nodes that are to be determined and to which terminals of the call acceptance group are coupled. The network nodes subsequently cause that information to be displayed at the terminals of the call acceptance group which are coupled to the network nodes, and permit the call to be accepted at each of those terminals.

  • Patent number: 6236721
Abstract: A method for route searching from a calling subscriber of a first terminal that is connected to a first communications network to a terminal of a called subscriber. In this case, the terminal of the called subscriber, whose address for setting up a call is initiated by the first terminal, is connected to a second communications network. Call diversion to a diversion destination is activated for the terminal of the called subscriber, in which case the diversion destination is not assigned to the second communications network.

  • Patent number: 5705998
Abstract: Telecommunication connections that are to be set up are provided with a signaling information (SI) that has an originating information (UI) for identifying the originating node, a destination information (ZI) for identifying the destination node and a network authorization information (NB) for an identification of restricted node connections specifically associated to the transmitting subscriber. Stored in the node itself is a correction information (KI) that can have at least one of inhibit and enable indicators for the node connections dependent on the originating and destination information (UI, ZI) of a telecommunication connection to be set up. A node authorization information is formed in the node controller from the network authorization information (NB) and from the correction information (KI), a node connection to be traversed thereupon by the telecommunication connection that is to be set up being calculated on the basis of this node authorization information.
