  • Publication number: 20220362690
Abstract: A filter unit is disclosed that increases solids loading capacity, decreases specific flowrate during filtration, and improves backwash effectiveness. A flow shaping plate and/or flow diverting member are used to reduce flow entrance effects during reverse, backwash flow through the filter unit.

  • Publication number: 20150090655
Abstract: A filtration assembly for a pressurized fluid system having a horizontally oriented tubular pressure vessel with a removable lid. A plurality of shroud tubes arranged in an inner array and a surrounding outer array receive contaminated fluid from the pressure vessel inlet through apertures in a vessel bulkhead to which the shroud tubes are attached. A plurality of tubular filter media elements with a closed end are received in each shroud tube and the opposite open end of each filter element is attached over an aperture in a cover plate sealed over the open end of the shroud tube. A tubular back wash arm has its opposite ends disposed for, upon rotation by a servo motor, being positioned progressively over selected apertures in the bulkhead for connecting the selected filter media elements to a drain for effecting backwashing.

  • Patent number: 8968558
Abstract: The system of the present disclosure enables a filter cartridge having an array of filter media tubes to be remotely selectively back flushed during service by sequentially flushing the tubes with the rotary valving element to permit removal of trapped filtered material in service without disrupting the filtering flow in the balance of the filter array.

  • Publication number: 20050160907
Abstract: A filtration system for filtering particulates from air. A plurality of point ionization sources are positioned in the proximity of the periphery of an air flow channel and being oriented to generate ions in the proximity of the air flow channel in a direction generally upstream from each respective one of the plurality of point ionization sources. A particulate collection surface is positioned within the air flow channel in a downstream direction from the plurality of point ionization sources. The particulate collection surface is electrostatically charged in an opposite direction with respect to ground than the electrical charge of the ions. An ion trap is positioned within the air flow channel between the plurality of ionization sources and the particulate collection surface. The ion trap is relatively electrically neutral as compared with the particulate collection surface and the ions.
