  • Patent number: 7152763
Abstract: A container closure includes an adapter formed from a first thermoplastic material and a valve formed from a second thermoplastic material. The adapter and valve are bonded together in a multi-material molding process to form an adapter and valve assembly. The adapter and valve assembly is directly fastened to a base to form the closure.

  • Patent number: 7028858
Abstract: A closure for a container for holding contents therein generally comprises a surface for gripping the closure in order to twist it in either direction to open it. The closure has downwardly projecting teeth on its underside; the container has upwardly projecting teeth, which mate with the downwardly projecting teeth of the closure. An outer ring on the closure circumscribes and holds in place the upper lip of the container in the closed position. Twisting of the closure in either direction causes the closure to be released from the container.

  • Patent number: 6880729
Abstract: A secure lock for container packaging with a flexible retaining lip of various formations for sealing against material product flow distributions with the secure seal preventing tampering of, for example, a flexible walled container of material such as a medication, food stuff or art material. A resistant secure lock is provided which in one embodiment meets Federal Child Safety Standards providing a seal of flexible locking and unlocking which is resistant to a child's tampering. In one embodiment, a tamper resistant seal is formed for a squeezable container cap with a flexible hinging structure connecting a cap to a cap receptor base structure of a container to prevent a material product such as medicine from dispensing without disengaging the seal selectively to allow access to an aperture, yet with a directed flexion of a lip or head, the seal simply unsnaps from a tamper resistant state to release the flow of product through an aperture from a container.

  • Publication number: 20040195241
Abstract: A closure is provided for a container having a raised lip proximal to an open end thereof. The closure includes a cap with a cover, at least two locking levers located on the cap, each lever having an upper actuation arm and lower locking arm, and an elastically deformable hinge connecting the cap and each locking lever. Further, each of the lower locking arms includes an inwardly projecting locking wedge. Each deformable hinge is located between the upper and lower arms of the locking lever thereby providing a fulcrum about which each locking lever may pivot. Radial displacement of the upper actuation arms results in radial displacement of each locking arm, thereby causing each locking wedge to releasably engage the container lip.

  • Patent number: 6726063
Abstract: A shape memory retaining valve for use with a flexible walled container and for dispensing product through the valve to form creative shapes and dispersions. In one embodiment, the valve is provided with an air passage such that when the container is capped, inward airflow continues allowing the container walls to recover their initial shape and reverse any container deformation occurring through product dispensing. When closed onto the container, a cap restricts the valve from opening out but does not restrict the valve from opening inwardly to let in air.

  • Publication number: 20030189065
Abstract: A multi-piece snap together cap generally comprises a molded base cap and a covercap intended to be used on a flexible-walled container and in an inverted position. Neither the covercap nor the base cap require special orientation during the assembly process of the multi pieces. To assemble, the top open ring of the covercap is lowered onto the base cap. The ring is molded with a one-way negative snap-in void area that is formed with an undercut, insuring the top positive overlapping snap ring in locked in place after assembly.

  • Publication number: 20020162839
Abstract: A container having an air intake value, enables a minimal amount of air to enter the container that the one way directional airflow eliminates the flexible walls of a container from being drawn inward and container distortion (product paneling) due to temperature and altitude changes. The inside design of the cover cap makes direct contact with the valve top slit area but generally not the outside of the slit area. With the top cover cap in place and covering the soft concave valve, the slits are restricted from opening outward because to the bottom contour contact fit of the cover cap. The flexible slit valve pieces are unrestricted from moving inward and open automatically to let air in when necessary and eliminating the paneling affect. In the closed position the top snap cover cap is designed not to be completely airtight with two butt joint areas on the hinge side of the cap.

  • Patent number: 5154414
Abstract: A basketball goal provided with a hoop from which is suspended a net, and a mounting assembly adapted normally to support the hoop on a backboard at a horizontal position. But when the hoop is subjected to a downward force by a player, the hoop is then momentarily deflected to absorb this force and thereby prevent damage to the goal and injury to the player. The assembly includes a mounting plate attached to the backboard and a hinge component secured to the front of the mounting plate, the component having a channel therein parallel to the plate and aligned at its midsection with a slot formed in the plate. Also included is a clevis formed by a rod shaped to define a pair of parallel legs that are joined to the hoop and are integral with inwardly-directed pin elements received in the channel, thereby pivoting the hoop on the hinge component, the pin elements merging with arms in abutting relation forming a cantilever crank that passes through the slot and projects from the rear of the mounting plate.

  • Patent number: 4949466
Abstract: A drawing device adapted to produce line drawings or sketches on a transparent screen on top of a case partly filled with a powder that adheres slightly to the undersurface of the screen to render it opaque. Disposed within the case are transverse and longitudinal rods operatively coupled to respective control knobs, one of which, when turned, causes the longitudinal rod to shift toward either side of the case, the other of which, when turned causes the transverse rod to shift to either end of the case. Supported at the intersection of the rods is an indexable stylus turret and carrier assembly whose carrier is slidably supported on the transverse rod and whose stylus turret which is received within the carrier, is slidably supported on the longitudinal rod whereby the position occupied by the assembly is determined by the point of intersection.

  • Patent number: 4936809
Abstract: A sound-producing toy having a hollow body formed of resilient material, whereby when the body is depressed and deformed by a player, this action produces a honking sound. The body envelops an air-filled cavity at one end of which is an air-intake valve whose actuating element is outside the body so that when the element is actuated by the player, air is admitted into the cavity. Also disposed in the cavity is a sound producer having an air outlet normally closed by a membrane which is partially secured to the outlet so that when the body is depressed by the player, the resultant increase in internal air pressure above ambient is exerted against the membrane and causes deflection thereof to permit air to escape from the outlet. The escaping air causes the membrane to vibrate to produce a honking sound. The air expelled through the outlet creates a partial vacuum in the internal cavity which acts to maintain the body in its deformed state.

  • Patent number: 4915633
Abstract: A user-propelled toy school bus which as it travels along a playing surface exhibits through its side and rear windows the successive letters of the alphabet. These letters are printed along an endless scroll that is guided in a path running behind the windows, each letter being defined by a series of equi-spaced parallel segments. The scroll is so driven by one set of the bus wheels through a unidirectional drive system that as the bus travels in either direction, the scroll always advances continuously in the same direction. Formed on each window is a parallel array of equi-spaced viewing elements. As the scroll advances behind each window, the segments of each letter alternatively move into registration with the viewing elements to expose the letter, and then the interstices between the segments move into registration with the viewing elements to blank out the letter.
