  • Patent number: 6598003
Abstract: The power and environmental condition monitoring system monitors the quality of power provided to a site as well as other environmental conditions that might affect the operation of electronic equipment at the site. The system detects and records power events, such as spikes, sags, surges, and other transients, records power conditions, such as voltage level, RMS volts, phase differential, A/C frequency, current, and impedance, and records environmental conditions, such as temperature, vibration, and humidity. The system includes an analog signal receiver that receives analog signals from measurement devices and converts the analog signals into digital signal data. At least some of the channels on the analog boards are high frequency channels capable of receiving and converting high frequency voltage event signals. The system also includes a digital signal processor (DSP) for reading the raw digital signal data from the analog signal receiver and for processing the raw digital signal data.

  • Patent number: 4725739
Abstract: An AC branch power distribution filter is provided for supplying AC power to a plurality of different load devices from a common external AC power source that eliminates the need for a separate protection device at each power outlet with the load devices. A plurality of elongate, flat conductors are coupled to the AC power source and include a neutral conductor, a ground conductor and at least one live conductor. The elongate flat conductors are parallel and spaced apart in an electrically insulated casing member. An electrically conductive shield member is electrically connected to the ground conductor and extends lengthwise of the elongate flat conductors overlying the insulative casing member. The shield member provides a shunt capacitance between ground potential and each of the live conductors and the neutral conductor. This distributed capacitance is utilized as the shunt element of the distribution filter.

  • Patent number: 4499376
Abstract: Apparatus for measuring the quantity of opaque material within a fluid stream which includes apparatus for directing an associated fluid stream. A beam of infrared light extends through the associated fluid and means are provided for sensing the intensity of the beam of infrared light after passing through the associated fluid. Means is also provided for producing a signal which is a function of an output of the means for sensing.
