  • Publication number: 20140084123
Abstract: An improved storage system, with a mechanism for easily mounting and detaching containers has been developed. The mounting mechanism consists of mounting rods attached to a storage container, which engage in suitably-shaped slots in hangers that can be attached to an overhead structure. The hangers can either be attached to the inside faces of adjacent joists or mounted to an overhead surface. The mounting mechanism is simple in construction and allows easy and rapid mounting and detaching of the storage container. The storage system results in a user-friendly and economical, overhead storage container that can easily be installed with simple hand tools.

  • Publication number: 20070294332
Abstract: In one embodiment, a processing device may create a hardware inventory of hardware devices included in the processing device. A medium of the processing device may be prepared for installation of an operating system. The operating system may be installed onto the medium. One of a number of hardware abstraction layers may be determined to be compatible with a hardware configuration of the processing device. The determined one of the number of hardware abstraction layers may be installed onto the medium. A number of drivers for the hardware devices may be installed onto the medium, wherein the hardware drivers are based on the created hardware inventory.

  • Publication number: 20060206295
Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for predicting the failure of a component using a probabilistic model of a material's microstructural-based response to fatigue. The method predicts the component failure by a computer simulation of multiple incarnations of real material behavior, or virtual prototyping. The virtual prototyping simulates the effects of characteristics that include grain size, grain orientation, micro-applied stress and micro-yield strength that are difficult to simulate with real specimens. The invention provides an apparatus for predicting the response of a component to fatigue using the method.

  • Publication number: 20060009951
Abstract: The invention regards a system reliability or failure predicting apparatus and method that incorporates known information about system component failure into a system model and uses the model with or without other acquired system data to predict the probability of system failure. An embodiment of the method includes using probabilistic methods to create a system failure model from the failure models of individual system components, predicting the failure of the system based on the component models and system data, ranking the sensitivity of the system to the system variables, and communicating a failure prediction.

  • Patent number: 6654782
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically processing a network event using an action set in a distributed computing environment are described. The occurrence of a network event is sensed via a sensor thread through receipt of a message indicating a network event occurrence, the message including event data pertinent to the network event. A generate daemon via a generate thread is launched responsive to a notification from the sensor process. An event mapping is retrieved by the generate daemon. The event mapping corresponds to the network event and identifies an action set. A generated action set is generated from the event mapping by the generate daemon and the generated action set is enqueued onto an event queue within which can be queued a plurality of generated action sets which each correspond to an instance of an action set. A process daemon is launched via a process thread responsive to a notification from the generate daemon.

  • Patent number: 6493756
Abstract: A system and a method for dynamically sensing an asynchronous network event within a modular framework for network event processing are described. An occurrence of asynchronous network events is sensed on one or more network event sensors. Each such sensor implements a common interface via which the sensor can be connected to the modular framework. At least one port over which can be received a message from a network agent indicating the occurrence of a network event is passively monitored. The message includes event data pertinent to the network event. The message is received over the at least one port via a listener thread and staged into a holding structure within which can be placed a plurality of received messages. Each received message is iteratively removed from the holding structure via a handler thread. An action set mapping corresponding to each received message is retrieved and an action set is generated from the action set mapping via a generator process.

  • Patent number: 5976351
Abstract: This invention discloses a process for producing a high Viscosity Index lubricant having a VI of at least 125 from a waxy hydrocarbon feed having a wax content of at least 40 wt %. The process comprises catalytically dewaxing waxy paraffins present in the feed by isomerization in the presence of hydrogen and in the presence of a low acidity large pore zeolite isomerization catalyst. This catalyst has a ratio of SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, as synthesized, of at least 50:1, and an alpha value of not greater than 20, wherein the catalyst is prepared in the absence of boron. The catalyst further comprises a noble metal hydrogenation component. The feed may be hydrocracked prior to dewaxing with the large pore zeolite. The feed may be solvent dewaxed prior to isomerization. The effluent of the isomerization step may also be further dewaxed by either solvent or catalytic means in order to achieve target pour point.
