  • Patent number: 11960334
Abstract: Cable assemblies for providing electrical communication between hinged sections of an electronic device are described. The cable assemblies can include a cover that covers one or more cables that run through a hinge region of the electronic device. The cable and cover can be drawn over a mandrel of the hinge region. The cover and the portions of the mandrel can be visible to a user at the hinge region of the electronic device. The cover can be sufficiently rigid to guide a path of the cable and protect the cable from bending beyond a prescribed angle during rotation of the electronic device at the hinge region. The cover can also be sufficiently rigid to prevent ceasing or folding of the cover and the cable during rotation of the electronic device at the hinge region.

  • Patent number: 5026226
Abstract: A motion absorbing docking assembly for use in subsea docking operations. A tubular docking pile receives a pile head assembly in which a retractable pile head is positioned. When the pile head is impacted by a docking guide on a jacket being lowered into place, axially spaced shock cells having a common central support member absorb the relative motion between the pile head and the docking pile. This arrangement provides for absorption of twice the distance that each individual shock cell is capable of absorbing by itself.

  • Patent number: 4490794
Abstract: An altitude preselect apparatus for use with or incorporation into an automatic flight control system combines the incremental altitude signal from a pneumatic encoding altimeter with a vertical speed computation to generate a smooth, continuous instantaneous altitude signal. A vertical speed reference signal is generated to control the vertical flight path of the aircraft when the instantaneous altitude reaches a prescribed proximity to a desired flying altitude which is manually selected by the pilot. The apparatus initiates a capture sequence to hold the aircraft at the desired altitude once it is reached.
