Patent number: 11975129Abstract: A hemodialysis system is disclosed. The hemodialysis system includes a dialyzer, a saline container including saline, and a disposable set comprising a blood pumping tube fluidly connected to a first end of the dialyzer, an arterial line fluidly connected to a first end of the blood pumping tube, a venous line fluidly connected to a second end of the dialyzer, a saline line fluidly connected to the blood pumping tube and the saline container, and a dialyzer line fluidly connected to a second end of the blood pumping tube and a second end of the dialyzer. The hemodialysis system also includes a dialysis instrument comprising an arterial line clamp, a venous line clamp, and a saline valve. The saline rinses blood out of the arterial line when the venous line clamp is closed, the arterial line clamp is opened, and the saline value is opened.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2022Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignees: Baxter International Inc., Baxter Healthcare SAInventors: Robert W. Publication number: 20240098198Abstract: An image-reading device, such as optical code readers used in retail environments to scan objects, is configured to select from various operational modes. The operational modes are selected based on an application of the image-reading device, such as optical code identification or image recognition. Red, white, and other color light sources are activated in patterns corresponding to an illumination sequence of the selected operational mode, while imagers are activated to capture an image based on an exposure pattern of the selected operational mode. Further, a repeating series of light pulses having different portions of light is provided. Various imagers are configured to capture images over one of the portions. This allows an operator to perceive one continuous light pattern, yet allows various imagers to capture an image under different light conditions used for different applications of the image-reading device.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: WenLiang Gao, Aric Brant Zandhuisen, Michael Jay Ahten, Robert W. Rudeen, Keith Layne Rogers, Brett Thomas Howard

Patent number: 11933606Abstract: A vehicle wheel alignment system has a plurality of cameras, each camera for viewing a respective target disposed at a respective wheel of the vehicle and capturing image data of the target as the wheel and target are continuously rotated a number of degrees of rotation without a pause. The image data is used to calculate a minimum number of poses of the target of at least one pose for every five degrees of rotation as the wheel and target are continuously rotated the number of degrees of rotation without a pause. At least one of the cameras comprises a data processor for performing the steps of preprocessing the image data, and calculating an alignment parameter for the vehicle based on the preprocessed image data.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2022Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Snap-On IncorporatedInventors: Steven W. Patent number: 11931492Abstract: A system and method for balancing flows of renal replacement fluid is disclosed. The method uses pressure controls and pressure sensing devices to more precisely meter and balance the flow of fresh dialysate and spent dialysate. The balancing system may use one or two balancing devices, such as a balance tube, a tortuous path, or a balance chamber.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2021Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignees: BAXTER INTERNATIONAL INC., BAXTER HEALTHCARE SAInventors: Michael E. Patent number: 11342679Abstract: A monocone antenna with an impedance matching section that may allow a reduction in physical size of the cone while maintaining similar performance as a standard monocone antenna. Alternatively, the present disclosure may provide a monocone antenna with an impedance matching section that may allow operation at a lower frequency while maintaining the same physical size as a standard monocone antenna. Further, the present disclosure may provide a monocone antenna with an impedance matching section that may allow a reduction in physical size and operation at a lower frequency relative to a standard monocone antenna.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 24, 2022Assignee: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventors: John Marshall, William G. Collins, Peter J. Frappier, Timothy J. McLinden, Robert W. Rogers

Patent number: 10665961Abstract: A dual mode array antenna including a ground plane, a plurality of antenna elements, a tuning mechanism for tuning the array antenna to a resonant frequency, and a base defining a cavity having a depth that is less than half of a wavelength at an upper frequency of the array antenna is disclosed. Each of the plurality of antenna elements includes at least one spiral arm and each of the plurality of antenna elements is embedded in the cavity. The dual mode array antenna operates between the upper frequency and a lower frequency and may operate in one or more resonant frequencies.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2018Date of Patent: May 26, 2020Assignee: BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc.Inventors: Benjamin G. McMahon, Christopher K. Cheung, Robert W. Rogers, Court E. Rossman

Patent number: 5408535Abstract: A video test strip reader uses a video imager or camera for viewing a viewing field containing reagent test strips each having test pads reacted with a specimen containing constituents of interest. The video imager produces an analog signal representing an image of the viewing field. An image handler coupled to the video imager converts or digitizes the analog signal into a digital signal representing the image and stores the image in the form of an array of pixels representing the image. Each pixel contains color information broken down into red, green or blue (RGB). A processor coupled to the image handler analyzes the array of pixels, determines the location and orientation of a test strip, identifies the test areas on the test strip, measures the corresponding test areas on the strip at the proper times and calculates the test results, such as the concentration of the constituents of interest in the specimen or other measurable properties of the specimen such as color or specific gravity, etc.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1993Date of Patent: April 18, 1995Assignee: Miles Inc.Inventors: Willis E.
