  • Patent number: 7340912
Abstract: A primary air flow path has a pre-cooler and an evaporator. A secondary air flow path includes portions of an air conditioner assembly including a compressor and an condenser. The air conditioner assembly also has lines connecting the compressor and the condenser the evaporator. A cooling tower has a coolant fluid input and output with a heat exchanger section. The heat exchanger section conveys coolant fluid. A pump causes cooling flow of water over the section. The coolant fluid output is adapted to feed a coolant fluid in two coolant fluid paths. The first fluid path is in heat exchanging relationship with the air conditioner assembly. The second fluid pat is coupled to the pre-cooler.

  • Patent number: 5937667
Abstract: Conduits or chambers for use in directing and conditioning the flows of air or fluids using a wide variety of heat generation, cooling, variation of pressure or vacuum and the effect of this on a member that is moved or rotated from one chamber to other chambers to effect the removal of moisture, particles and some gasses from an air or fluid stream that is conditioned for a specified use; generally, but not limited to a living or storage environment.

  • Patent number: 5931016
Abstract: An air conditioning system is provided which utilizes both exhaust and outside air energy to regenerate the latent and sensible heat removal operations while not detrimentally increasing the bacterial contamination risks associated with exhaust air energy recoupment. The air conditioning system includes a supply air passageway through which supply air flows during conditioning thereof and a desiccant wheel for reducing the humidity of supply air in the supply air passageway. The system also includes separate exhaust air and outside air passageways. A first circulation assembly is provided for circulating a heat transfer medium between a refrigerant-type cooling assembly and a first transfer zone disposed in the exhaust air passageway and a second circulation assembly is provided for circulating a heat transfer medium between the cooling assembly and a second transfer zone disposed in the outside air passageway.

  • Patent number: 5758511
Abstract: An apparatus and method is disclosed for an improved air conditioning system for admitting air from an exterior space, adjusting the temperature and humidity of the exterior air, delivering the adjusted air to an interior space of a structure, removal of exhaust air therefrom and return of the exhaust air to the exterior space and wherein a regenerative desiccant is provided for removing water vapor from the air to be delivered to the interior space and delivering the water vapor to the exhaust air stream and a heat exchanger is provided for removing sensible heat4 from the air to be delivered to the interior space and transferring the sensible heat to the exhaust air stream. The apparatus combines for the first time electric air conditioning reheat and solar energy with desiccant technology, thereby furnishing conditioned air at an 80% reduction fo energy cost. The apparatus for the first time allows the use of waste oil heat to furnish conditioned air at an 80% reduction in energy cost.

  • Patent number: 5582241
Abstract: A conduit for use in directing the flows of primary fluid and a secondary fluid in heat exchanging relationships comprising a plurality of elongated members to direct a flow of a primary fluid in a first path. The first path is comprised of separate generally parallel channels. It includes means to direct a flow of air over, under and between the plurality of elongated members in a second path. The first path and the second path are in spaced alternating relationship in generally parallel planes and with the first path in a first direction and the secondary path in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Coupling means are associated with the input and output ends of the first and second paths whereby when a first fluid is fed through the first paths at a first temperature and a second fluid is fed through the second paths at a second temperature, a heat transfer occurs therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4403481
Abstract: A curb for a roof air conditioning package is enclosed on all sides and the bottom to form a plenum. The air conduits from and to the building are connected to the plenum rather than the unit. The plenum is reinforced by a wood collar around the top, which then serves as a second function of a roofing nailer strip. The curb is leveled by wedge supports.

  • Patent number: 4352349
Abstract: A control system is disclosed for use in a restaurant having a forced air input air conditioning and/or heating system and a grill with an exhaust fan operating therewith. The invention includes an exhaust fan sensor means for monitoring the operative condition of the exhaust fan. A grill control means is provided for controlling the on/off operation of the grill. An air input sensor means senses the operative condition and the air flow of the air conditioning and/or heating system. A controller is connected for monitoring the sensors and for inhibiting operation of the grill upon an inoperative condition of the exhaust fan. The controller further inhibits operation of the air conditioning and/or heating system upon an inoperative condition of the exhaust fan thereby insuring the correct temperature within the restaurant. The invention may optionally include a stand-by power supply, a line voltage monitor and programmable thermostatic controller.
