  • Patent number: 10514256
Abstract: In some examples, a vision system includes multiple time of flight (ToF) cameras and a single illumination source. The illumination source and the multiple ToF cameras may be synchronized with each other, such as through a phase locked loop based on a generated control signal. A first one of the ToF cameras may be co-located with the illumination source, and a second one of the ToF cameras may be spaced away from the illumination source and the first ToF camera. For instance, the first ToF camera may have a wider field of view (FoV) for generating depth mapping of a scene, while the second ToF camera may have a narrower FoV for generating higher resolution depth mapping of a particular portion of the scene, such as for gesture recognition.

  • Patent number: 10236016
Abstract: A speech interface device may be configured to act as a remote speaker peripheral for multiple audio sources such as media players and phones. Upon receiving a request from a user to connect to an audio device, the speech interface device determines which of the multiple audio devices are currently available, selects one of the audio devices based on information about or received from the user, establishes an audio connection with the selected one of the audio devices, and begins acting as a remote speaker or speakerphone for the selected audio device.

  • Patent number: 10025776
Abstract: Systems and methods for an online mediated language translation market are described. A language translation mediation (“LTM”) system may provide customers with the ability to request and receive language translation services on demand and/or in real-time. Language translation services may be provided by the language translation mediation system, for example via translators who know multiple languages, in exchange for a translation fee. A customer may request a translation of text, images, audio and/or video content from the LTM system, the LTM system routes the translation request to one or more translators who may perform the translation, and the LTM system provides one or more selected translations to the customer. In some embodiments the LTM system may determine a price for a translation and/or facilitate payment on behalf of, or from, the customer, to the translator who provided the translation for the customer.

  • Patent number: 9430931
Abstract: An audio device may be configured to work in conjunction with a handheld remote controller to receive voice commands from a user. The audio device may have multiple local microphones that are used for sound source localization, to determine the position of the user. A remote audio signal may be received from the remote controller and used in conjunction with local microphone signals generated by the local microphones to aid in determining the position of the user. The last known position of the user may be recorded whenever the user speaks into the remote controller. When the user is unable to find the remote controller, the audio device may direct the user toward the last known position of the user.

  • Patent number: 9041691
Abstract: A passive projection screen presents images projected thereon by a projection system. A surface of the screen includes elements that are reflective to non-visible light, such as infrared (IR) light. When non-visible light is directed to the screen, the non-visible light is reflected by the reflective elements back. Part of the reflected light may contact and reflect from a user's fingertip or hand (or other object, such as a stylus) while another part is reflected to the projection system. The projection system differentiates among distances to the surface and distances that include the additional travel to the fingertip. As the fingertip moves closer to the surface, the distances approach equality. When the distances are approximately equal, the finger is detected as touching the surface. In this manner, a projection surface equipped with reflective elements facilitates more accurate touch detection.
