The introducer comprises a tubular member having a connecting end, a positioning end, and a central lumen, the connecting end including a coupling for attaching the introducer to an ultrasonic imaging system, and the positioning end comprising a plug or other structure that facilitates positioning of the introducer inside a urethra at a fixed anatomical landmark.

Abstract: A facility for coupling different types of catheters to an imaging system is provided. The facility comprises a docking module and a plurality of couplers for coupling the different types of catheters to the imaging system. The docking module provides a mechanical and electrical interface between a catheter and the imaging system. The plurality of couplers enables the different types of catheters having different mechanical and electrical coupling structures, to engage and interact with the docking module.

Abstract: An ultrasound scanning system and methods of using the same. In one preferred form, an ultrasound scanning system comprises an acoustic imaging catheter comprising an ultrasonic transducer, a motion control system and an imaging computer system for imaging a patient's genitourinary system. In another preferred form, an ultrasound scanning system is used for imaging a patient's prostate gland.

Abstract: A protective guard for use with a wall-mounted light switch in order to keep the light switch in the desired "on" or "off" state. The guard is a pivotal arm having at one end an opening for receiving one of the mounting screws of the light switch, by which the guard is pivotally connected to the wall plate of the light switch. When it is desired to allow access to and operation of the light switch, the guard is pivoted out of the way. The same general principle of the invention applies to a guard for selectively closing off a wall plug outlet.
