  • Publication number: 20180029183
Abstract: A method and apparatus for directing a coolant stream for use with a computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tool includes a nozzle pivotably mounted on a machine tool. The position of the nozzle is automatically adjusted using information available in the CNC machine control program and the part program (i.e. G-Code) to determine where to direct the coolant nozzle at each instant in time. Integration with the machine control program allows the coolant delivery system to be continuously adaptive to machine position. The position of the coolant delivery system is computed by algorithms according to a user selected strategy. The strategy is specified within the control language of the machine control program (i.e. G-Code). No operator programming outside of using G-Code commands to select the desired operating mode is required to direct the coolant nozzle. The user can change operating modes while the machine is running by issuing G-Code commands.

  • Patent number: 9880456
Abstract: Improvements in a variable aspect ratio media screen frame are disclosed. The variable aspect ratio media screen frame includes a frame or chassis consisting of a fixed central portion and one or more movable side, top and bottom wings. The movable wing(s) nests inside the center frame. The movable wing(s) nest(s) inside said fixed central portion for a smaller aspect ratio, and at least partially exists outside the fixed central portion for a larger aspect ratio. The variable aspect ratio media screen frame allows the viewing media to deploy from the front of the viewing area, into a storage area encased, out of view, in the movable frame. The current embodiment employs an overlapping ā€œUā€ shaped roller channel to move the screen from the front to the back of the frame, and springs and tension bars to maintain even tension on the viewing media at all times.

  • Publication number: 20130029817
Abstract: An improved design of an automatic tool changing system for use with a machine tool is disclosed. The design of the tool gripper and tool holder enable reliable tool changes without requiring precise alignment of the machine tool spindle with the tool changer. In addition, the invention is modular in nature and allows an automatic tool changer to be added to a variety of machine tools in a simple and cost effective manner without extensive modification and rewiring.

  • Patent number: 8260751
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method for log file time sequence stamping is provided. The method includes connecting to a console port of one or more data sources and receiving data from the data sources. The data may be logged with both an independent time stamp and a sequence indicator. The independent time stamp provides a consistent time stamp of when the data was received at the system and the time sequence indicator represents an order in which the data was received at the system.
