  • Publication number: 20240187879
Abstract: A method, implemented by a data processing system, of adjusting modifiable parameters of network cells of a self-organizing cellular mobile communications network, comprising: retrieving a current configuration of network cells currently deployed on field, including modifiable parameters; exploring different configurations of the network cells, each differing from the retrieved current configuration and from other different configurations by a change in the value of at least one of the modifiable parameters of at least one network cell; evaluating the explored different configurations of the network cells.

  • Patent number: 10728842
Abstract: A method and system for providing a wireless communication network for a smart device are provided, the device including wireless communication circuitry, the method including: analyzing information regarding a plurality of hotspots in a geographic area in which the device is deployed, each hotspot being configured to establish a wireless communication within a predetermined range; estimating, based on the analyzing, an extent of coverage provided by the plurality; checking, based on the estimating, whether at least one hotspot is able to provide the communication to the device, and if so, configuring the hotspot to provide the communication, otherwise modifying an operating behavior of a selected hotspot in order to provide the communication, the modifying including selecting the hotspot from the plurality, sending a request for modifying an operating behavior of the selected hotspot to provide the communication, and verifying that the operating behavior has been modified.

  • Publication number: 20150332008
Abstract: A method is disclosed for providing a telecare service to a patient. According to the method, at least one sensor installed in a domestic environment of the patient detects a datum relating to either the domestic environment or an interaction between patient and domestic environment. Based on the detected datum, an anomaly in the domestic environment or in the interaction between patient and domestic environment is detected. Then, a predefined question uniquely associated with the detected anomaly is selected for generating a questionnaire to be submitted to the patient, with the purpose of determining the cause of the detected anomaly. Based on the patient's reply it is determined if the detected anomaly is a false anomaly and, in the affirmative, the predefined question associated to such false anomaly is excluded from the next questionnaire(s), even if the anomaly persists.

  • Patent number: 8982857
Abstract: A wireless network includes permanently powered routing nodes and intermittently operating routing nodes. A polling procedure is used for transferring routing and data information packets from a permanently powered routing node to an intermittently operating routing node. In particular, when the permanently powered routing node has to transmit an information packet to the intermittently operating routing node, it stores the information packet in a memory; it waits until the intermittently operating routing node is able to receive information packets; and then it transmits the information packet to the intermittently operating routing node, and when the intermittently operating routing node has to transmit an information packet to the permanently powered routing node, it transmits immediately the information packet to the permanently powered routing node.

  • Patent number: 8321171
Abstract: A system includes a plurality of networked nodes spatially distributed within a monitored area and adapted to interact with a mobile entity entering and moving through the area, the plurality of nodes including at least one area entrance node adapted to detect the mobile entity upon entering the monitored area, and a transaction node for accomplishing a transaction with the mobile entity; a transaction processing center in communication relationship with the nodes for processing data required for the transaction and for providing the data to the transaction node. A node selection unit is adapted to dynamically select the transaction node among the plurality of nodes based on an estimation of the speed of movement of the mobile entity.

  • Patent number: 8295196
Abstract: A source node estimates not only the schedule time offset of the destination node but also the clock drift of the destination node. In this way, the source node may choose very accurately the transmission start time of an information packet to this destination node so that typically only one very short preamble needs to be transmitted. The estimation of time offset and clock drift between two nodes is achieved through tone or more previous transmissions between these two nodes, in particular, information relating to these parameters is transmitted from the destination node to the source node in reply to a preamble transmitted by the source node to the destination node.
