  • Publication number: 20070088871
Abstract: A method is provided in a software program (20) for implementing a job queue (10) shared by a plurality of distinct processes (22). The method includes: adding a plurality of distinct jobs to the queue; and, providing the plurality of processes access to the job queue such that two different processes may simultaneously manipulate two different jobs contained in the job queue. Optionally, the queue is also persistent insomuch as it survives the exiting or termination of the process or processes that created it and/or first used it.

  • Publication number: 20060271824
Abstract: A test harness development component streamlines the design of regression test harnesses for testing text-based software. An auto-recording tool to automatically record the input and output data in an actual run of the testing session and to automatically generate a test harness. The test harness development component provides an auto-executing tool to automatically run the test harness in subsequent regression tests. The test harness language is used to specify the tests, validation rules of the results, and any other rules for running the test of a test harness. The test harness language is human-readable and emulates the manual test procedures with very little overhead.

  • Publication number: 20060026465
Abstract: A test harness that comprises one or more tests for a program in one example is executed. An output from the test harness is received. The output comprises one or more respective test results for the one or more tests. A verification that the one or more respective test results comprise one or more expected test results for the one or more tests is received from a user. The one or more expected test results are stored in a benchmark file. A test harness for benchmark file generation that comprises one or more tests for a program in a further example is created. The test harness comprises one or more calls to one or more subroutines that are employable for one or more of: a definition of one or more expected test results for the one or more tests; and/or a verification of the one or more expected test results.
