  • Patent number: 5581334
Abstract: In an electrostatic image developing device for electrical photocopiers, a magnetizable one-component toner, initially contained in a removable container, is fed, by the action of a rotating flexible strip, through a development chamber towards a rotating non-magnetic development roller surrounding a number of stationary permanent magnets, forming on it a magnetic brush, whose thickness is controlled by a non-magnetic flexible blade pressed against the surface of the development roller; the development chamber is fitted with three stirring bars made of non-magnetic material, each bar describing a different closed path in different zones of the development chamber in such a way as to avoid the formation of lumps and to maintain the correct fluidity of the toner. In addition, a metallic wire is fitted in the development chamber and acts as a sensor device to detect when the removable container is nearly empty of toner.

  • Patent number: 5325158
Abstract: A ventilation device for a photocopier draws ozone mixed air from a developing unit and image transfer unit and forwards it to ventilate a fusion unit where the subsequent heating of the air reduces the ozone content. The air flow evacuates the condensed water issued by the sheets of paper during the fixing.

  • Patent number: 4630077
Abstract: The head (12) comprises a closed container (14) carrying two electrodes (36, 62) and a nozzle (18) and mounted removably on a carriage (13).In order for the ink (16) always to be held at atmospheric pressure, the container (14) comprises an expansible space defined by a diaphragm (67) having a portion (74) aligned with an opening (73) in the container (14).The diaphragm (67) is of butyl rubber which can be pierced with a syringe to permit the container (14) to be refilled with ink (18).The container (14) is closed by an alumina plate (32) carrying the nozzle (18) and joined to a second plate (76) parallel thereto, and of a material which can be wetted by the ink (16). The second plate (76) constitutes a wall for resisting the pressure waves of an ink jet leaving the nozzle (18), and is immediately covered by the ink again.

  • Patent number: 4129378
Abstract: Electrophotographic copying machine comprising a discharge device for discharging the area of the movable photoconductive element which exceeds the area of the copy-sheet residing in the machine. The discharge device comprises a lamp and a mask interposed between the lamp and the photoconductive surface, the mask has a plurality of slots, each slot being associated to a copy-sheet format; each slot comprises a first portion for discharging the margin zones of the photoconductive element, which zones has a length equal to the difference between the width of the photoconductive element and a dimension of the copy-sheet format selected; and a second portion for discharging the entire width of the photoconductive element, the second portion is positioned in front of the lamp after that a length of the photoconductive element equal to the other dimension of the format has been moved in front of the discharge device.
