  • Patent number: 8015482
Abstract: Described is the annotating of computer document content, particularly editable content, by saving annotations in a separate annotation store, and mapping the annotations back to the content. By mapping, no data are added to the original content at runtime, and only minimal data need be added to the content when persisted. An annotation is anchored to a piece of runtime content, such as upon creation of the annotation, by maintaining annotation data as well as start and end pointers mapped to the annotated piece. Upon saving the content, information (e.g., an anchor marker including an identifier) is persisted with the piece of content to allow the annotation to be re-anchored to the piece upon subsequent reload. For example, when loading content from persistent storage that includes an annotation identifier, the annotation identifier is processed to locate a start and end of the portion and an annotation in the annotation store.

  • Patent number: 7721456
Abstract: This invention refers to a MEASURING APPARATUS FOR THE PROGRAMMING AND WELDING OF ADJUSTABLE BRACKETS permitting the electrical spot welding with a great accuracy of the elements of an adjustable bracket, in this manner being able to adjust or to program the information that the orthodontist wants to incorporate in the bracket in regard to inclination, angulation and rotation. In order to achieve this aim I developed two attachments: THE POSITION MEASURING ACCESSORY and the WELDING ACCESSORY. THE POSITION MEASURING ACCESSORY has the function of recording or measuring accurately the dental position as for inclination, angulation and rotation on dental casts. This measurement is performed by means of a template system that allows the recording a tooth position in relation to its osseous basis and the occlusal plane.

  • Patent number: 7153129
Abstract: A remote staged furnace burner configuration includes placement of secondary fuel gas nozzles remote from burners. This configuration brings about an increased mixing of secondary fuel with furnace fuel gases. As a result, the temperature of the burning fuel gas is lowered and NOX formation is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7025590
Abstract: A remote staged radiant wall furnace burner configuration includes placement of secondary fuel gas nozzles remote from radiant wall burners. This configuration brings about an increased mixing of secondary fuel with furnace flue gases. As a result, the temperature of the burning fuel gas is lowered and NOX formation is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6214202
Abstract: A system for treating dissolved halogenated organic compounds in groundwater that relies upon electrolytically-generated hydrogen to chemically reduce the halogenated compounds in the presence of a suitable catalyst. A direct current is placed across at least a pair, or an array, of electrodes which are housed within groundwater wells so that hydrogen is generated at the cathode and oxygen at the anode. A pump is located within the well housing in which the cathode(s) is(are) located and draws in groundwater where it is hydrogenated via electrolysis, passes through a well-bore treatment unit, and then transported to the anode well(s) for reinjection into the ground. The well-bore treatment involves a permeable cylinder located in the well bore and containing a packed bed of catalyst material that facilitates the reductive dehalogenation of the halogenated organic compounds by hydrogen into environmentally benign species such as ethane and methane.

  • Patent number: 6083118
Abstract: A golf club head has a perimeter formed by bending a tube into a desired perimeter shape, and securing a member over at least part of the loop to at least cover the loop opening and form the striking face. At least one plug of weighting material fills a portion of the tube at a predetermined location on the loop to form a weighted portion. Successive plugs of the weighting material and a lighter weight material may completely fill the tubular loop. Each plug is inserted while the material is in a flowable condition and the loop is held in a suitable orientation based on the location of the plug. The material is allowed to harden before adding the next plug.

  • Patent number: 4070882
Abstract: A lock shielding assembly for preventing unauthorized access to a lock by providing a shield over the lock which can easily be removed by authorized individuals, while requiring an unauthorized person an extensive amount of time to open. The assembly includes a housing which can be superimposed over the front face of the lock. The housing includes a slot positioned between a front and rear wall and includes cooperating openings in the walls providing access to the key hole of the lock. A shield plate is slidably mounted in the slot for movement to and from a position covering the lock. A plurality of pins extend into the front wall, selectable ones of the pins extending through the front wall and into engagement with the shield plate to retain the shield plate in its position covering the lock. The location of the selected pins are known only to the authorized user who can easily remove them, while the unauthorized individual must remove all or most of the pins.
