  • Publication number: 20200369088
Abstract: A tire includes a tread portion for contacting a road surface, two shoulder portions on each axial side of the tread portion, two sidewall portions extending radially inward from the shoulder portions, two hoop-shaped bead portions, and a carcass layer folded over the bead portions from an axially inner side to an axially outer side of the tire thus stretching the carcass layer into a toroidal shape in the tire circumferential direction of the first tire. One of the shoulder portions includes a recessed portion for modifying air flow about the one shoulder portion.

  • Publication number: 20200307319
Abstract: A tread has a midcircumferential plane, a first axial tread edge, and a second axial tread edge. The tread includes a first shoulder rib extending circumferentially about a perimeter of the tread, a second shoulder rib extending circumferentially about the perimeter of the tread, and a first intermediate rib extending circumferentially about the perimeter of the tread. The first intermediate rib is defined by a first and a second circumferentially extending groove disposed to each axial side of the first intermediate rib. The first intermediate rib has a first plurality of angled sipes extending both axially and circumferentially at an angle between 50° and 70° relative to the first circumferentially extending groove. The angled sipes each have a radial depth of between 1.0 mm and 3.0 mm.

  • Publication number: 20200198405
Abstract: A tread for a tire includes a center rib formed by two circumferential main grooves extending along a tire circumferential direction in a center of a tread width direction. Each circumferential main groove being the same axial distance from a tire equatorial plane of the tread. The center rib has a plurality of first main inclined grooves and a plurality of second main inclined grooves. The first and second main inclined grooves are inclined oppositely with respect to the tire circumferential direction such that the first and second main inclined grooves become distanced from the tire equatorial plane from trailing edges in a tire rotational direction toward leading edges. One zigzag shaped central groove is disposed on one side of the tire equatorial plane and the other zigzag shaped central groove is disposed on an opposite side of the tire equatorial plane.

  • Publication number: 20200198406
Abstract: A tread for a tire includes a first circumferential groove; a second circumferential groove; a third circumferential groove; and a fourth circumferential groove. The first, second, third, and fourth circumferential grooves define first, second, third, fourth, and fifth ribs. The second and fourth ribs include lateral grooves and lateral sipes, each extending in a first angled direction relative to the first circumferential groove across the tire tread. Two lateral sipes are disposed circumferentially between each adjacent pair of lateral grooves.
