  • Publication number: 20190355441
Abstract: A meter value that reflects the amount of genetic material stored in a reserve is stored in a database for each reserve in a bank. Meter values allow a user to track the amount of genetic material in the reserves of a bank without needing to physically measure or disturb the reserves unnecessarily. As users withdraw and deposit genetic material from and into a reserve, the meter value is changed to reflect the change in the amount of genetic material in the reserve. In certain embodiments, the use of meter values enables accurate and instant accounting of a large number of reserves of genetic material for a large number of individuals. Users and/or individuals may be notified when a meter value falls below a threshold. Notifications may prompt a user to generate additional genetic material from biological sample or an individual to provide additional biological sample.

  • Publication number: 20180300455
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods to record and track, via a graphical user interface, biological samples, and biological material extracted therefrom, used to generate genotyping data. As biological samples are processed in several stages to extract biological material and perform genotyping tests, IDs are assigned to biological samples and biological material for individuals as well as well plates used during processing of the biological samples and the biological material in order to organize the samples and the tests. Biological samples are assigned to well plates for use in extracting biological material. Biological material is assigned to genotyping plates for use in performing genotyping tests. By associating IDs corresponding to biological samples or biological material with IDs for well plates or genotyping plates, respectively, a user can track which extractions and/or tests need to be performed and record which biological samples have been received or genotyping plates analyzed.

  • Publication number: 20180245051
Abstract: The techniques described herein provide for improved efficiency of iPSC production from biological cells. The approach achieves improved iPSC production efficiency by obtaining a set of cells whose cell cycles are synchronized at a specific, desired cell cycle phase, such as mitotic phase (also referred to as M phase). The efficacy with which such synchronized cells can be transformed into iPSCs is higher than for an arbitrary set of cells that comprises cells at a variety of different stages in their cycles. Accordingly, the approaches described herein allow efficient generation of iPSCs, thereby facilitating myriad technologies for personalized and regenerative medicine that rely upon the effective production of iPSCs.

  • Publication number: 20180218434
Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods for automatically identifying and recommending purchases (e.g., in-app purchases) to a user based on the user's personal genetic profile. In certain embodiments, offers for such purchases are conveniently presented in the same software application (e.g., smartphone app or other computing device application) in which a user securely accesses his or her personalized genetic profile test results. Also presented herein are systems and methods for computer application developers to customize apps for presentation of recommended purchases based on a user's personal genetic profile. In certain embodiments, the systems and methods described herein provide for issuing of genetically tailored notifications to one or more mobile health devices of an individual based on an assessment of the individual's genetic profile. Such notifications, for example, can assist an individual in their adherence to particular recommended regiments, such as workout regimens.

  • Publication number: 20180173842
Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods related to a scalable and platform-agnostic framework that facilitates the creation of personal genetic profile products. In particular, in certain embodiments, the systems and methods described herein facilitate the creation, storage, organization, and maintenance (e.g. updating) of data corresponding to the relationships between particular variations that may occur in an individual's DNA (e.g. variants of different specific SNPs) and the health-related phenotypes that they influence. The data stored in this manner can be used as a template not only for presenting personal genetic profile assessments to an individual in an informative and user-friendly manner, but also for the rapid, automated creation of personal genetic profile assessments of a plurality of individuals from data corresponding to genotyping measurements of biological samples provided by the individuals.

  • Publication number: 20150112604
Abstract: In certain embodiments, the invention relates to systems, methods, and apparatus that allow a user to visually augment a graphical rendering of either a chemical structure representation or a biological sequence representation with multi-dimensional information. A user captures a video image using a computing device such as a hand-held smart phone, computerized eye glasses or tablet computer. The video image includes information regarding at least one of a chemical structure and a biological sequence. A processor identifies, within the video image, a graphical representation of at least one of a chemical structure and a biological structure. The processor augments the graphical representation with additional information and provides the video data for presentation upon a display controlled by the computing device. The computing device presents the video data in substantially real time in relation to the capture of the video data by the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20120296901
Abstract: An information management system creates data structures based entirely on the content of source files, then compares these data structures to discover synergies and commonalities. In one embodiment, the system accepts a first collection of source files, and extracts text from each source file. The text is compared to tags in one or more dictionaries, which comprise hierarchical listing of tags. Tags matching the text are associated with each source file. The system then generates a virtual relational network in which each source file having matching tags is a node. Tags associated with two or more source files are links between the nodes. This virtual relational network may be compared with another virtual relational network to discover common nodes or links. Source files later added to a collection are massively linked by associating all tags from all source files with the newly added source file, and vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20120078853
Abstract: A knowledge management platform eliminates the trial and error process for analytical chemists in, for example, identifying appropriate methodologies for separating mixtures of chemical compounds. The platform allows the analytical chemists to perform a variety of searches on data existing from previous experiments, procedures, and/or processes. The platform may be employed to make faster decisions, and ultimately decreases the time taken in selecting an appropriate separation methodology.
