  • Patent number: 6771933
Abstract: The present invention provides a wireless communications system, in which a distributed antenna system (DAS) and one or more master Bluetooth access point modules are employed to extend the range of and wirelessly deploy Bluetooth access points (BTAPs) in a scalable and versatile manner. A variety of wireless personal area networks (WPANs) are further created, to support multiple slave Bluetooth devices. As such, the present invention provides a simplified and easily scalable Bluetooth coverage infrastructure, allows pooling the resources of Bluetooth access points for best performance/cost ratio and dynamic RF routing/filtering in capacity management, and simplifies the provisioning in the system.

  • Publication number: 20040037565
Abstract: In a wireless communication network, a method for transporting signals between a base station hotel and a remote cell site allows multiple uplink and downlink signals to be communicated using a single optical fiber. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, an RF transport technique uses frequency translation to shift the common carrier frequencies of diversity and sector signals to distinct intermediate frequencies that are then combined, converted to an optical signal and transmitted over a single fiber. The RF transport technique also uses wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) to communicate both uplink and downlink signals over the same fiber. Reference clock signals are distributed to ensure accurate frequency translation at both ends of the link. Reference power signals are also transmitted in both uplink and downlink to help perform signal power equalization.

  • Publication number: 20040003000
Abstract: The database is populated with target chemicals, corresponding listings of reagent chemicals, corresponding listings of equipment and corresponding listings of procedures. The database is then searched in response to user identification of a target chemical. In response, a listing is displayed of reagent chemicals that are used to synthesize the target chemical, equipment that is used to synthesize the target chemical, and a procedure that is used to synthesize the target chemical by reacting the reagent chemicals in the equipment according to the procedure. An icon-based reaction editor and/or context-sensitive Boolean query option generators may be provided. A reaction template may be used to perform predictive chemistry. A reaction relay may be used to graphically display related chemicals and procedures using a hub and spoke arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20020169566
Abstract: In response to a user query that identifies a target chemical, a listing is displayed of reagent chemicals that are used to synthesize the target chemical. A listing also is displayed of equipment that is used to synthesize the target chemical. A listing also is displayed of a procedure that is used to synthesize the target chemical by reacting the reagent chemicals in the equipment according to the procedure. User input is accepted to electronically order the reagent chemicals that are used to synthesize the target chemical, the target chemical itself and/or the equipment that is used to synthesize the target chemical. In response, a transaction is performed to electronically order the reagent chemicals that are used to synthesize the target chemical, the equipment that is used to synthesize the target chemical and/or the target chemical itself.
