  • Patent number: 7303678
Abstract: A variable process for treating wastewater at a localized sewage treatment system positioned at the site of the wastewater generation is disclosed. Wastewater initially flows from a residence or business into a first operational area of the wastewater treatment system where a majority of the solid material in the wastewater is allowed to separate out of the wastewater. The wastewater is transferred from the first operational area to a second operational area. At a predetermined transfer time, if the wastewater in the second operational area is at least equal to a predetermined transfer volume, a batch of the wastewater is transferred from the second operational area to a third operational area. The batch of wastewater in the third operational area is aerobically treated for an amount of time based on the volume of the batch of wastewater. The treated wastewater is then transferred from the third operational area for dispersal.

  • Patent number: 7294254
Abstract: A localized wastewater treatment system for biologically treating wastewater. Raw wastewater flows into a first operational area where a majority of solid material in the wastewater separates out of the wastewater and is retained in a solids area positioned below the first operational area. As the wastewater continues to flow into the first operational area, the wastewater overflows from the first operational area to a second operational area. Once the wastewater in the second operational area reaches a predetermined volume, a batch of the wastewater is transferred from the second operational area to a third operational area where the batch of wastewater is biologically treated by a population of microorganisms contained within a solids area located beneath the third operational area. The treated wastewater is then removed from the third operational area for dispersal.

  • Patent number: 6932112
Abstract: A valve configured to receive a fluid, such as ambient air, from one or more sources and distribute the fluid to one or more outlet ports selected from a plurality of outlet ports. The valve includes a first and second member forming a cavity that contains a rotational disk used to directed a fluid through one or more outlet ports located in the second member. The first member includes a distribution chamber for receiving the fluid from an inlet port and for distributing the fluid to the rotational disk. The rotational disk may be controlled using a motor and sensor to align one or more apertures in the disk with one or more selected output ports in the second member. Thus, a fluid may be directed from a single distribution chamber to one or more selected outlet ports.

  • Patent number: 5647986
Abstract: An automated wastewater treatment miniplant intended for installation and use with individual residences. Wastewater such as raw sewage is received in a settling tank to remove suspended solids, and then flows to an intermediate tank where the sewage is aerated and churned to promote aerobic treatment of organic materials in the sewage. When the wastewater in the intermediate tank reaches a predetermined level, a batch of that wastewater is transferred to an aerator-clarifier tank where further aerobic treatment of the batch wastewater occurs under controlled conditions, without dilution with incoming wastewater. Further aerobic decomposition of the wastewater takes place in the aerator-clarifier tank. Sludge is allowed to settle in that tank, and supernatant liquid within that tank is periodically withdrawn for dispersal in a drain field. Sludge is periodically returned to the intermediate tank to augment the biomass in that tank. Some sludge is periodically wasted from the system.

  • Patent number: 4986905
Abstract: The present invention is a self-contained residential and commercial treatment system which is capable of purifying waste water and then distributing the purified water by means of a sprinkler system or a drip feed irrigation system or of recycling the purified water in some manner.
