  • Publication number: 20240093219
Abstract: Polynucleotides incorporated into nucleic acid constructs have been introduced into plants and were ectopically expressed. The encoded polypeptides of the invention have been shown to confer at least one regulatory activity and confer earlier flowering, longer floral organ retention, increased cold tolerance, greater tolerance to water deprivation, altered carbon-nitrogen balance sensing, increased low nitrogen tolerance, and/or increased tolerance to hyperosmotic stress as compared to a control plant.

  • Patent number: 4689768
Abstract: Spelling errors are detected through the comparison of the keyed word with previously stored words of known spelling. The operator is immediately alerted upon the detection of a lack of comparison between the keyed word and the words available in the storage for operator consideration. When the operator is notified through an alerting device of a "no match", the operator may then modify the spelling of the word if it is incorrect or accept the word if it is correct but not found in the dictionary storage. Words previously not located in the dictionary storage are then stored in a random access memory for subsequent use and the word most recently verified as correct and stored in the random access memory may be maintained at the top of a stack while the most infrequently used words will eventually be removed from the random access memory as the memory fills and overflows.

  • Patent number: 4303925
Abstract: Each ink droplet printed on a recording surface, which has relative movement along a first axis with respect to ink droplet producing means, forms part of a character, and may be disposed in any granular position in a second direction, which is substantially orthogonal to the first axis, relative to a single predetermined position, which is the gutter stream position. Information concerning the location on the recording surface of each printed droplet relative to the single predetermined position in the second direction and to the prior printed droplet or a margin along the first axis is stored in a read-only storage (ROS). The information concerning the location of the droplet in the second direction is a voltage applied to charging means with the magnitude of the voltage in conjunction with any induction created by prior adjacent droplets of the ink stream determining the deflection of the droplet.

  • Patent number: 4167741
Abstract: An ink jet printer in which the nozzle for emitting a stream of ink drops, the charge electrode for charging ink drops in accordance with signals to be recorded, and the deflection electrodes for providing an electric field therebetween to deflect ink drops in accordance with the magnitude of the charges on the drops, are mounted on a carrier which moves relative to an ink drop record receiving media for forming images indicative of the signals on the deflected ink drops. To compensate for the inclination of the image formed by the carrier movement relative to the recording media, a voltage gradient or difference is applied across at least one of the deflection electrodes so as to effect electric field distortion intermediate the electrodes to thereby compensate for the slant due to carrier velocity.
