  • Publication number: 20240132972
Abstract: The invention provides in vitro methods of determining whether an individual has a pre-cancer or cancer comprising determining the presence or absence of one or more methylation markers of a methylation marker set in a urine sample of said individual; and determining whether the individual has pre-cancer or cancer based on the detection of the presence or absence of said one or more methylation markers in the urine sample, wherein the presence of said one or more methylation markers indicates that the individual has pre-cancer or cancer. The invention further provides methods for typing pre-cancer or cancer based on the presence or absence of one or more methylation markers of a methylation marker set in a urine sample.

  • Patent number: 8845535
Abstract: The invention relates to a capsule or chip or sensor comprising a marker/detector and signalling device/method associated with the development of a medical condition/disease and to its use. This In Situ Lab On a Chip Signalling device (ISLOGS device) is used for detecting a medical condition/disease in situ or in vivo (inside the body), for example by swallowing it for testing in the digestive tract or by putting it into the vagina, mouth or nose. All reactions takes place in the body and when the test result is positive the device will notify the subject by colorizing the tested body fluid or biomaterial (for example faeces, urine or saliva) or the device itself. The detection is made outside of the body when the biomaterial or ISLOCS device has left the body.

  • Publication number: 20120202325
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a single crystal nano-structure includes providing a device layer with a 100 structure on a substrate; providing a stress layer onto the device layer; patterning the stress layer along the 110 direction of the device layer; selectively removing parts of the stress layer to obtain exposed parts of the device layer; plane dependent etching of the exposed parts of the device layer to obtain an exposed 111 faces of the device layer; thermally oxidizing the exposed 111 face of the device layer and forming a lateral oxidation layer at an interface of the device layer and the stress layer; providing a mask layer onto the oxidized exposed 111 face of the device layer; removing remaining parts of the stress layer to obtain further exposed parts of the device layer; removing the mask layer; plane dependent etching of the further exposed parts of the device layer to form a single crystal nano-structure with a triangular shaped cross section, until a side of the triangular shaped cross section

  • Patent number: 7650290
Abstract: A method and computer installation for communicating with one or more other computer installations with a processor, and memory with data and instructions stored therein so that the processor can execute a predetermined program. The program enables the processor to receive the following data: anamnesis data for a client; physical/diagnostic data for the client; data on diagnostic methods; and use of medication and treatment methods with regard to predetermined diseases. The program enables the processor to calculate, and incorporate in a report, the following: the risk of the client acquiring one of the predetermined diseases, harbouring such a disease or having such a disease; data with regard to a possible prevention programme for the client to prevent the one of the predetermined diseases; and data with regard to any medication to combat the one of the predetermined diseases that may be harboured or existing.
