  • Publication number: 20150210749
Abstract: The invention relates to method of treatment using fusion proteins. The fusion proteins may be RAGE fusion proteins produce by methods for controlling the glycosylation of the fusion protein. The fusion protein may comprise a RAGE polypeptide linked to an immunoglobulin polypeptide.

  • Patent number: 9034341
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for controlling the glycosylation of a RAGE fusion protein. The invention also relates to compositions comprising an amount of a RAGE fusion protein where at least 0.5% of the amount of the RAGE fusion protein is aglycosylated and wherein no more than 53.2% of the amount of the RAGE fusion protein is aglycosylated.

  • Publication number: 20120039908
Abstract: The invention relates to novel methods for controlling the glycosylation of a protein and the protein produced thereby. An exemplary method of the invention comprises producing a protein comprising a decreased level of glycosylation, e.g., the protein comprises fewer glycans or fewer saccharides at the glycosylation site, by culturing a host cell expressing the protein in the presence of a glycosylation inhibitor. In an exemplary method of the invention, the biological characteristics of the protein are altered by the decreased level of glycosylation, e.g., the binding of the protein with its target ligand is modified.

  • Patent number: 5595905
Abstract: A method for controlling nutrient concentration levels in a fermentation broth containing bacteria or a yeast and a nutrient is disclosed. A computer calculates the nutrient consumption rate of the broth for selected intervals of time between successive samples in real time by comparing the nutrient concentrations of the samples. Thus, the computer having the capability to predict an estimated rate at which the nutrient concentration is expected to decrease at selected sample intervals. Further, adding fresh nutrient to the fermentation broth at a rate and quantity based on the estimated rate to control nutrient concentration levels. Furthermore, a means for obtaining a series of samples and measuring nutrient concentrations is also disclosed.
