  • Publication number: 20140121830
Abstract: A banking system that utilizes metrics in acquiring and processing event data related to financial transaction activity at a plurality of automated banking machines. Automated banking machine include sensors able to detect event data during a transaction. The event data can include transaction data related to the type of transaction, time analysis data related to duration of the transaction, and operational data related to machine components used in carrying out the transaction. The event data for automated banking machines can be obtained, analyzed, and stored. Statistical averages associated with the banking system machines can be determined in real time. The averages allow a respective machine to be compared to other machines with respect to operational efficiency. An alert can be issued concerning a statistical anomaly regarding the respective machine.

  • Patent number: 8590780
Abstract: A banking system is controlled responsive to data included on data bearing records. The system includes a deposit accepting machine for accepting deposit items, such as deposit bags, currency, and checks. The deposit accepting machine includes a card reader operable to read financial account data from cards of depositors. The machine includes a RFID reader that wirelessly reads data from RFID tags on deposited items, including account number and deposit amount data. A computer credits the account for the read deposit amount. The machine, which can also dispense cash, further includes an NFC reader that can wirelessly receive cash loading data from an NFC component on a cash handler's cash transport bag. The cash loading data can include an amount of cash loaded into the machine. The machine can wirelessly transmit to the bag, dispense data that includes the amount of cash dispensed since the last cash loading.

  • Patent number: 8348150
Abstract: A system operated responsive to data included on data bearing cards enables carrying out transactions between a service provider and a customer. Customers may be located within a vehicle in a drive-through lane adjacent to a building which houses a service provider station. Financial accounts may be assessed charges for items based on data read from cards. The customer and service provider may exchange items through a pneumatic tube conveyor system. Alternatively items may be exchanged through a rotating device which provides for selectively positioning items at delivery stations at different vertical heights. The service provider positions items at a suitable level for exchange with the customer based on the height associated with the user in their vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8342400
Abstract: A registering and counting system operated in response to information included on data bearing records is used for maintaining inventory records related to narcotics items. Data corresponding to users is read through record reading devices (448, 452). Authorized users are allowed access to a narcotics vault (402). Narcotics holding containers (422) are removable from storage locations in drawers (416). Wireless transmitters on the containers operate in conjunction with wireless readers in the storage locations to enable a computer (458) to track the use of the narcotics items and operating parameters of the system.

  • Patent number: 8234216
Abstract: A system (10) for carrying out transactions between a customer at a customer station (14, 21, 202, 204) and a service provider at a service provider station (12, 194), includes transferring items through transaction devices such as pneumatic carrier delivery and receiving device (21, 200) and a deal drawer (20, 208). The customer at the customer station provides inputs corresponding to a financial account through input devices on the body which is stored in the memory (82, 158) on the body. After transfer to the service provider station, data in the memory is output to a charge device (56) which is operative to assess a charge to the customer's account responsive to data output from the memory. Vehicle sensors (230, 234) sense a vehicle adjacent the respective transaction device. At least one computer calculates at least one time value corresponding to each vehicle and stores the at least one time value and other data values concerning the respective transaction.
