Publication number: 20110067341Abstract: A wall module for a modular wall structure integrates a wall panel portion with a post portion having top or upper and bottom or lower extensions and at least one groove for receiving for receiving a distal end portion of a wall panel portion of an adjacent module. The bottom/lower extension is set within an exposed portion of a reinforcing cage of a caisson or pier extending below grade and the reinforcing cage and bottom/lower extension are encapsulated with a material such as concrete to integrate the caisson or pier with the bottom/lower post extension. Integration of the caisson or pier with the module provides numerous economies of transportation and construction of the modular wall as well as increased safety and limitation of costs of repair. The top/upper post extension is of a length to accommodate the full height of the wall panel portion of an adjacent module to improve strength and stability of the modular mall.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 16, 2010Publication date: March 24, 2011Inventor: Rodney Smith

Patent number: 7852998Abstract: An automated teleconferencing control system and method reduces conference call setup time by simultaneously out dialing to multiple conferees through a plurality of parallel telecommunications resources. The teleconferencing control system includes the feature of automatically gathering statistics of each connection attempt, as well as many other call aspects, using these statistics to automatically improve the efficiency of subsequent conference call initiations. Gathered statistics are also used to automatically configure the system to cause all of the conferees to be connected to a conference call at substantially the same time. The selection of which telecommunications resources are used for contacting each target conferee is made based on criteria that include the telephone number or Internet address of the target conferee's telephone.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2004Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Assignee: Tele-Town Hall, LLCInventors: Rodney A. Patent number: 7607645Abstract: A highway crash barrier structure with an improved interlocking system includes a plurality of rigid sections disposed end-to-end in interlocking relationship with one another. The ends of each rigid upright section are provided with a reshaped JJ Hooks® connection. Each hook member has an extending vertical lip which is bent into a “J” shaped cross-section to engage a similar lip on the hook member of the adjacent section such that lateral movement of the respective sections is prevented. However, the respective sections of the system can be easily placed or removed by vertically displacing them. In addition, the interlocking plates at each end of the upright sections are vertically lengthened while the number of bars welded to the plate is increased to reduce the rotational moment of the sections and increase shear transfer between adjacent sections.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2008Date of Patent: October 27, 2009Assignee: Easi-Set IndustriesInventor: Rodney Smith

Patent number: 7512248Abstract: A method of incorporating a second image into a primary image. A vectorial grid is created that is adapted for mapping on to the primary image. A deformation is applied to the grid using data from the second image. The deformed grid is then mapped onto the primary image to create an output image. The second image is revealable by applying a decoder to the output image.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2003Date of Patent: March 31, 2009Assignee: Nautilus (GB) LimitedInventor: Ian Rodney Smith

Publication number: 20080149468Abstract: This invention consists of a plastic rod designed to turn a toggle light switch on and off. Dual mounting positions allows anyone to reach different heights when turning on a light switch that may not normally be accessible, such as a child who can not reach the light switch from the top of a bunk bed. With the longer end of the rod facing upward, a person on the top bunk can now turn the light on and off by sliding the rod up or down. Mounted in the opposite direction with the longer end of the rod facing downward, a small child or someone confined to a wheelchair can easily and safely turn the light switch on and off by sliding the rod up or down. The actuating arm has two different lengths, the upper being 8 in. from center, the lower being 15½ in. from center.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2006Publication date: June 26, 2008Inventor: Rodney Smith

Publication number: 20070266228Abstract: A Branch Target Address Cache (BTAC) stores a plurality of entries, each BTAC entry associated with a block of two or more instructions that includes at least one branch instruction having been evaluated taken. The BTAC entry includes an indicator of which instruction within the associated block is a taken branch instruction. The BTAC entry also includes the Branch Target Address (BTA) of the taken branch. The block size may, but does not necessarily, correspond to the number of instructions per instruction cache line.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2006Publication date: November 15, 2007Inventors: Rodney Smith, James Dieffenderfer, Thomas Sartorius

Publication number: 20070260854Abstract: A pre-decoder in a variable instruction length processor indicates properties of instructions in pre-decode bits stored in an instruction cache with the instructions. When all the encodings of pre-decode bits associate with one length instruction are defined, a property of an instruction of that length may be indicated by altering the instruction to emulate an instruction of a different length, and encoding the property in the pre-decode bits associated with instructions of the different length. One example of a property that may be so indicated is an undefined instruction.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2006Publication date: November 8, 2007Inventors: Rodney Smith, Brian Stempel

Publication number: 20070251822Abstract: Disclosed are chemochromic nanoparticles that can be used as pigments in paints, dyes, coatings, and inks. Because of the small size of the nanoparticles, there is an increased surface area of the chemochromic material that increases the speed of the response of the chemochromic material. The nanoparticles can also be employed in thin film detectors.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2006Publication date: November 1, 2007Inventors: William Hoagland, David Benson, Rodney Smith

Publication number: 20070204142Abstract: A link stack in a processor is repaired in response to a procedure return address misprediction error. In one example, a link stack for use in a processor is repaired by detecting an error in a procedure return address value retrieved from the link stack and skipping a procedure return address value currently queued for retrieval from the link stack responsive to detecting the error. In one or more embodiments, a link stack circuit comprises a link stack and a link stack pointer. The link stack is configured to store a plurality of procedure return address values. The link stack pointer is configured to skip a procedure return address value currently queued for retrieval from the link stack responsive to an error detected in a procedure return address value previously retrieved from the link stack.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2006Publication date: August 30, 2007Inventors: James Dieffenderfer, David Mandzak, Rodney Smith, Brian Stempel

Publication number: 20070204087Abstract: A processor provides two-level interrupt servicing. In one embodiment, the processor comprises a storage device and an interrupt handler. The storage device is configured to store an interrupt identifier corresponding to an interrupt request. The interrupt handler is configured to recognize the interrupt request, initiate a common interrupt service routine responsive to recognizing the interrupt request and subsequently initiate an interrupt service routine corresponding to the stored interrupt identifier.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2006Publication date: August 30, 2007Inventors: Michael Birenbach, Gregory Brookshire, James Dieffenderfer, Stephen Geist, Richard Moore, Thomas Sartorius, Rodney Smith
