    Abstract: A temperature-controlled laboratory heating apparatus consisting of a flexible electrical heater wrapped around the exterior surface of a conventional glass or metal beaker and permanently encased within a rubber molding forming an insulating ring around it. The heater is electrically connected to a power source through an integrated-circuit temperature control panel. A thermistor is mounted against the outside surface of the beaker within the rubber molding and is connected to the control panel to regulate the flow of current through the electrical heater to reach and maintain the temperature set by the user. In one embodiment of the invention, the current through the heater is automatically regulated to optimize the time required to heat the liquid in the beaker to the desired temperature and to then deliver trickle currents, as needed, to minimize fluctuations from the set-point.

    Abstract: An operator controlled variable electrical power delivery console and foot pedal controller are provided. The variable electrical power delivery console is designed to supply power to universal motors that are subjected to fluctuating loads that impact the performance of the motor. The invention combines two types of solid state electronic circuits including a selectable power booster circuit that responds to load changes that enables a motor to operate at high torque and another selectable solid state electronic circuit which allows the motor to operate at high speeds and lesser torque demands. The invention includes a selectable auxiliary foot pedal controller that is operator selectable for use with either of the two types of electrical circuits.

    Abstract: A variable power foot pedal controller for controlling electrical power to universal motors and which contains solid state circuitry that boosts the power to accommodate high torque performance from the motor in response to load changes. The foot pedal controller includes a steel cable linkage arrangement that interfaces with a slide type control variable resistor that provides the linear motion control for varying the resistance that biases the solid state circuitry that boosts the power being delivered to the motor. The linkage arrangement allows operator incremental power delivery control by manipulating the slide variable resistor and further activates and deactives switch elements according to positional states of the linkage to energize the solid state circuitry or bypass the solid state circuitry.

    Abstract: A toilet ventilation generally comprised of an inventive toilet seat, a pre-filter, a water bleed-off means, an exhaust tubular member, and an electrically powered air extraction means. The inventive toilet seat rests directly on a toilet bowl rim and contains a plurality of ducts within the toilet seat. The series of ducts guide the odorous air toward the air extraction means. A water bleed-off means is implemented to trap moisture suspended in the odorous air and to prevent the moisture from entering the exhaust tubular member and the air extraction means thereby increasing the expected life of the ventilation system.
