  • Publication number: 20230041400
Abstract: Methods and systems for easily establishing or switching between wireless connections by sending a Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) command from a first BLE enabled device to a second BLE enabled device, where the BLE command causes the second BLE enabled device to attempt to establish a Bluetooth Classic connection with one or more source devices from a list of source devices that have previously been paired with the second BLE device. The first BLE device is configured to obtain or receive the list from the second BLE device, and in response to one or more triggers, send the BLE command. The list of previously paired source devices may be presented to a user via a display screen with touch-screen functionality, and in some examples, may utilize one or more algorithms to intelligently order the available source devices based on a variety of factors.

  • Patent number: 10922044
Abstract: Various implementations include approaches for demonstrating device capabilities in a wearable audio device. In certain cases, these approaches include initiating a demonstration using the wearable audio device to provide the user with an example of the device capabilities. In particular aspects, the wearable audio device is configured to apply acoustic demonstration settings at the wearable audio device based upon the demonstration mode, and output an acoustic signal for playback at the wearable audio device.

  • Patent number: 10916248
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for improving wake-up word (or trigger word) detection by an audio device. After initially detecting a WUW, an audio device validates the detected WUW using inputs from one or more other systems such as voice activity detection (VAD), on-head detection, or other headphone data. Other headphone data includes inputs received via sensors on the audio device that provide contextual information associated with a state of the user. Based on the inputs from other systems, the audio device is able to identify unintended WUW activations and increase WUW detection accuracy.

  • Patent number: 10817251
Abstract: Various implementations include approaches for dynamically demonstrating device capabilities in a wearable audio device based upon detected environmental conditions. In certain cases, these approaches include initiating a demonstration using the wearable audio device to provide the user with an example of the device capabilities, based upon detected environmental conditions proximate the wearable audio device and/or a biometric state of the device user.

  • Patent number: 10506362
Abstract: A method is provided for operating a wearable audio device. At least one point of interest is detected in a vicinity of a user wearing the audio device. In response to the detection, audibility of sounds received in a direction of the at least one point of interest is improved, while attenuating sounds received in at least one other direction. The improved sounds are output for delivering by the audio device to at least one ear of the user.
