  • Patent number: 5576938
Abstract: Electronic circuit pack and mounting frame in which a drawing device is provided to draw the pack into the frame to mate connectors of the pack and frame. A guide arrangement of slots and received guide pins is provided to hold the pack in correct orientation during the drawing process. Hence, the connectors are correctly aligned and incorrect mating and resultant connector damage is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4764414
Abstract: The device comprises a mounting frame adapted to receive and support the hybrid circuit and a pair of wing frames, one at each end of the thin frame for supporting it at a predetermined angle in relation to the printed circuit board. The wing frames may be angled outwardly away from the mounting frame thereby allowing a plurality of the devices to be nestled adjacent one another in close proximity.

  • Patent number: 4736649
Abstract: The mechanism comprises a pivotally mounted lever member having a pushbutton portion and having its free end adapted for engagement of the actuator in a panel-latching system. An annular lock cylinder is mounted transversely underneath the pushbutton portion and is provided with a slot adapted to accommodate a portion of the pushbutton portion. One end of the cylinder has its surface formed into a cavity having a predetermined pattern whereby the lock cylinder may be rotated only by engagement with a tool adapted to engage the patterned cavity. The cylinder is rotatable to at least first and second positions whereby in the first position, the lever member is allowed to engage the actuator and is prevented from engagement therewith in the second position.

  • Patent number: 4702535
Abstract: An electronic equipment drawer assembly which has a readily replaceable faceplate assembly mounted on a printed circuit board which in turn, slides into the drawer. To ensure damage does not occur to the printed circuit board, when the drawer is opened or closed by a force applied to the faceplate, the unit is designed so that such a force is transferred directly to the drawer and not through the printed circuit board to the drawer.

  • Patent number: 4648009
Abstract: The invention provides an articulated latch for use with the faceplate of a printed circuit board (PCB) adapted to be inserted into and removed from its functional location on a mounting frame. The latch comprises an actuating member pivotally secured to a latching member adapted to be pivotally attached to the faceplate of a PCB. The actuating and latching members have an interface mechanism comprised of cooperating tab, slots, and wells for allowing the actuating member to lock at at least two positions into the latching member. With the PCB positioned in its functional location, the actuating member of the latch may be stored in an approximately horizontal position.

  • Patent number: 4569001
Abstract: A mounting for line cards on circuit boards, as used in telecommunications systems comprises a molded plastic frame having a plurality of mounting positions for ceramic circuit members. Each position comprises two parallel, spaced guide and support members having upper and lower guide formations spaced along each guide and support member. There is a plurality of substrate holders, a holder for each position, each holder having a flat support surface with upstanding projecting members at front and rear ends, with undercuts for reception of a ceramic circuit member or substrate. Each holder has a front member extending normal to the support surface and has a latching and ejecting member at the front end. The frame also has support and guide formations at a rear end for attachment of a circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4423466
Abstract: An electrical jack is supported, at its front end, on a circuit board, by a thin flat member having an aperture therein which is a sliding fit over a tubular extension on the front end of the jack. The flat member has a tongue extending radially inward of the aperture, the tongue being bent or deformed on insertion of the tubular extension in the aperture. The tongue grips the extension and sustains the flat member in position prior to attachment to the board. Legs on the bottom edge of the flat member pass through the circuit board and are attached to the back surface of the board, as by soldering. Terminals at the rear end of the jack pass through the board and are connected to a circuit. The flat member can have a plurality of apertures, for the support of a plurality of jacks positioned together.

  • Patent number: 4417095
Abstract: A support member for electronic devices, particularly for mounting devices on a printed circuit board, has a flat central web portion, side members extending down along each side of the central web portion, the side members connected to the web portion by inclined webs. Each side member has a plurality of slots extending down from its top edge, with an aperture at the bottom of each slot. A transverse rib extends upward at each end, with a resilient latch. The leads of an electronic device are guided by the upper surfaces of the inclined webs and the inner surfaces of the slots into the apertures and are correctly positioned for insertion in a printed circuit board. The device is held down by the latches. A protective cover can be positioned over the device, protrusions on the cover snapping into recesses in the transverse webs.

  • Patent number: 4386388
Abstract: A protective cover formed from sheet aluminum, which is used to provide both electrical shielding and mechanical protection for a printed circuit board and its components. The abutting edges of the tubular cover are held in contiguous relationship when the cover is in place, by inturned edges which engage small notches in end plates which are affixed to the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4384756
Abstract: An electrical plug-in option switch in which the orientation of the female plug while withdrawn from the associated male jack may be altered to select different circuit options. The plug is constrained by a supporting flange so that its orientation can be altered only when it is fully withdrawn from the jack. In addition contact between the plug and jack is possible only when the pins and sockets are aligned thereby preventing inadvertent damage to the pins during selection of the electrical option.
