Abstract: A connector terminal which twist mounts to one or more electrical conductors. A terminal fitting includes a number of prongs and a terminal end. The terminal end is selected to accommodate a particular one of a variety of terminations. The prongs are staked within an insulated housing and are conically flared outward to fit mating recesses at the housing. A spiral wound spring having a compound tapered longitudinal surface is screw fitted to the staked prongs and housing. Edges of the spring windings bite into the prongs and housing to permanently secure the termination end and spring to the housing. Connectors having alternative terminal ends are disclosed for making a wide variety of electrical connections.

Abstract: A modular fastener system for securing conductive cabling to a variety of surfaces and wiring devices. In a strap configuration, a base support includes a pair of standoffs and a connecting bridge piece that define a conductor support channel. The base standoffs include wall fasteners and a plurality of bores having serrated surfaces. A plurality of ribbed protrusions project from exposed surfaces of each base and retainer bridge. A retainer strap includes a pair of standoffs having serrated bores and a connecting bridge. A plurality of serrated prongs extend from the retainer standoffs and align to provided bores at the base and other retainer straps to define further conductor support channels, upon vertically stacking a number of retainer straps to the base and/or each other. In various wiring devices, the base may include a spanner bracket, a fixed or gangeable junction box or a bushing collar.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for connecting and terminating electrical conductors. The apparatus provides an electrical connector-terminal, which includes a conductive coiled spring construction that is adapted for selectively retaining and releasing a wire lead arrangement. The electrical connector-terminal further includes a terminal arrangement that is constructed and arranged for selective engagement with an electrical terminal. The method relates to a method of connecting and terminating a conductor element or wire lead arrangement to an electrical device.
