  • Patent number: 9010070
Abstract: A structural framing member comprises a web flanked by a pair of flanges. The flanges may extend generally perpendicularly from the side edges of the web. In some embodiments, the web may comprise a plurality of evenly-spaced embossments positioned along the centerline of the web. The embossments may be diamond shaped. The web may further comprise one or more longitudinally extending offsets that extend along the length of the web. Each flange may comprise a plurality of evenly-spaced longitudinally extending stiffeners. The longitudinally extending stiffeners may be spaced approximately ?? (0.953 cm) apart from each other. • Patent number: 7940842
Abstract: An algorithm calculates spectral compression/expansion filter coefficients using a value proportional to a reciprocal of a feedback/feedforward signal and stores the coefficients to a lookup table. The lookup table is indexed by a pre selected set of coefficient bits to generate a filter coefficient function. A first portion of the lookup table stores a plurality of discrete values at index points of a line segment corresponding to a filter coefficient function approximation, so as to generate an initial discrete value corresponding to the filter coefficient function at a value of the high order bits and a second portion stores a plurality of slope values, which indicates a slope of the filter coefficient function. A linear circuit interpolates/decimates an approximation of the compression/expansion filter coefficient function based on the slope value, the initial discrete value and a preselected set of low order bits of the reciprocal value.

  • Publication number: 20100328531
Abstract: Television audio signal encoders include a matrix that sums a left channel audio signal and a right channel audio signal to produce a sum signal. The matrix also subtracts one of the left and right audio signals from the other to produce a difference signal. The encoders also include a configurable infinite impulse response digital filter that selectively uses one or more sets of filter coefficients to filter the difference signal and/or the sum signals. Each selectable set of filter coefficients is associated with a unique filtering application to prepare the difference signal for transmission. Decoders with the matrix are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6588867
Abstract: In a method of calculating a variable spectral compression filter coefficient in a BTSC compatible stereo encoder from a feedback variable, a reciprocal value that is proportional to a reciprocal of the feedback variable is calculated. A lookup table is indexed using a preselected set of bits of the reciprocal value to generate at least one parameter of the filter coefficient function. An approximation of the compression filter coefficient is linearly interpolated based on the at least one parameter of the filter coefficient function. An apparatus that includes circuitry that calculates a variable spectral compression filter coefficient in a BTSC compatible stereo encoder from a feedback variable includes a reciprocal value circuit that calculates a proportional to a reciprocal value of the feedback variable.

  • Patent number: 6259482
Abstract: The present invention includes a digital stereo modulator having a digital left channel input and a digital right channel input into a Digital BTSC Stereo Generator that contains a Sine Table. The Digital BTSC Stereo Generator generates and outputs the following signals: 2*FH, compressed BTSC L−R, preemphasized BTSC L+R, and FH. A digital multiplier amplitude modulates the 2*FH carrier with the compressed BTSC L−R output, and the resultant signal is a Stereo Subchannel AM-DSB-SC BTSC Compressed L−R, which is then summed together with the preemphasized BTSC L+R, and FH by a digital summer. The output of the digital summer is the composite BTSC output without SAP or Professional channels. The Digital BTSC Stereo Generator transforms left and right inputs into the outputs described above by utilizing clock inputs 3*FH and 12*FH. A digital PLL phase locks 3*FH and 12*FH clocks to a Horizontal Synch (FH) reference, for input to the Digital BTSC Stereo Generator.

  • Patent number: 6192086
Abstract: A BTSC-compatible encoder that is integrated onto an application specific integrated circuit includes a low pass filter that is responsive to a digital representation of an audio signal that has a sample rate of FS. The low pass filter generates a corresponding second digital signal having an pseudo-interpolated sampling rate of 4FS. A digital infinite impulse response pre-emphasis filter generates a pre-emphasized output signal corresponding to the second digital signal. A digital signal compressor that is responsive to the pre-emphasized output signal, generates a compressed digital signal corresponding to the pre-emphasized output signal. A digital phase locked loop that is responsive to a video sync pulse having a sync pulse frequency, generates a third digital signal corresponding to a sinusoid having a frequency equal to twice the sync pulse frequency and a having a sampling frequency equal to 4FS.
