Abstract: In certain embodiments, a system includes a mechanical actuator having a first member configured to engage a contact block to move a contact slide for a first distance between open and closed positions of an electrical contact pair. The mechanical actuator also has a second member configured to engage an auxiliary device to move an actuator for a second distance between first and second positions, wherein the first and second distances are substantially different from one another.

Abstract: A device and method establishing an electrically conductive path between a pair of contacts in low voltage, low current applications, such as in electronic circuits. The device and method feature a flexible spanner that contacts a pair of fixed contacts with a sweeping movement. The spanner includes a bent portion that flexes when a force is exerted on the spanner such that a contact portion of the spanner sweeps across the surface of the pair of fixed contacts.

Abstract: A switch operator, such as a manual push button, mounts a latch onto which are mounted up to four cartridges. A pair of laterally opposed arms of the latch receive each cartridge between them, and lock the cartridge to the latch. Each cartridge has four lips, two for each arm, which engage a pair of spaced apart locking surfaces on each arm. Each arm fits between the two lips it engages, and each cartridge has a pair of feet which fit into a pair of pockets in the latch. A contact cartridge has a follower, and the follower and feet are both positioned to one side of the cartridge, and the feet cooperate with the pockets to insure proper orientation of the cartridge in its position on the latch.
