  • Publication number: 20100057435
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for receiving an input speech sample in a first language and outputting a translated speech sample in a second language in the unique voice of a user. According to several embodiments, a translation system includes a translation mode performing the above functions and a training mode for developing a voice recognition database and a user phonetic dictionary. A speech recognition module uses a voice recognition database to recognize and transcribe the input speech samples in a first language. The text in the first language is translated to text in a second language, and a speech synthesizer develops an output speech in the unique voice of the user utilizing a user phonetic dictionary. The user phonetic dictionary may contain basic sound units, including phones, diphones, triphones, and/or words.

  • Patent number: 6983868
Abstract: A fuel container having novel dispensing devices is disclosed. A hose or spout is fitted with a funnel, both being sufficiently clear to permit the visual detection of the free surface of the fuel within. At the juncture between the spout and the funnel, a valve is provided. The valve is thumb operated, so only one hand is required to open and close the valve. A carrying strap and a handle help make the fuel container portable. A window strip in the fuel container permits the user to observe the level of the fuel within.

  • Patent number: 6019640
Abstract: The housing bore (5) is substantially widened in the shape of a step at its edge and the outside diameter (A) of a support plate is widened correspondingly. The contact surface (8) of the housing (2) is reduced in accordance with the step-shaped widened part (7) to form comparatively narrow annular surfaces. An advantage of this is that passive intermodulation can essentially be prevented by the reduction of the contact surface.
